Disposable cameras
Just out of curiosity, is $6.50 for two cameras a bad deal? It's 400 speed film and has a flash. Wondering because FH wants to put some on the tables on the reception.

I can't remember the prices on the cameras but check at Sam's. When mom and I was there the other day they have great prices on film so I would say the cameras would be just as good.

How many pics is that 24? Cause that's not bad the cheapest I've found is 2.80 a piece, on the internet, in a regular store the cheapest I've found is like 5 each.

I think I ordered mine from bridalpeople.com and they were like $4.95 each.

Sounds good to me... I got mine on half price sale and even then they worked out as £3 each... that'd be $5 probably!
It was from a wedding supplies place though I wish I had tried the supermarkets! (oh, that includes developing them onto disc though, but not prints)

We had a discussion on this forum once about disposable camera.
Mixed results with the outcome- a few good candids, especially with "table groups" but a whole lot of wasted shots not worth keeping.
Biggest problem is the developing costs. Count on about 5 dollars per camera, add that to the camera cost and multiply by the total number of cameras.
At several weddings I have attended that had the disposables--got some crotch shots. Younger guys had a bit too much to drink and would duck under the table to get photos of women's crotches. EEEWWWW

I didn't have any probs with my disposables, except that one of them didn't forward properly, so I ended up with 1/2 pics on development. I liked that I had them right away after the wedding, instead of having to wait for the pro to finish her stuff.
I was lucky that my Aunt (as a wedding gift to me) offered to pay to develop the table cams. It was a saving grace after the big expense for the rest of the wedding.

I'm not sure if you are still looking for wedding cameras, but www.weddingchannel.com has some on sale now (between $3.80-$4.50 per camera). Go to their wedding shop and then click on 'Sale'.

It was at my local Wal-Mart, and I haven't seen any in the clearance aisle since then. Best of luck on your search tho!

Speaking of disposable cameras...nancyp will have an unpleasant surprise when she gets several of her cameras back. There were about 4-6 kids running around snapping pictures of each other randomly and chasing each other with the cameras all night at her reception.
I took the camera we had on our table and had it with me all night for funny pictures and pictures I didn't want to miss. Then I brought it home with me to get developed and get back to her when she gets home from the honeymoon. I figured it's one less camera she will have to pay for. (don't worry...I got her permission first!)

I gave the 3 girls at my reception their own cameras with their names written on them so they wouldn't be tempted to use up the rest!
It's funny what you said Lizbet, about having them develpoed quickly coz mine are still sitting in my kitchen! I need to post them
