wedding shoes
How did you guys choose your wedding shoes? What kind of shoes did you/are you wearing?
I almost bought an $85 pair of casual sandals today for the wedding and walked away from them at the last minute, both because I didn't feel they were dressy enough and because they were expensive. I'm still looking for shoes.

I chose something that wasnt expensive or too dressy. I wanted something that I could wear again. The shoes I ended up getting are from bealls department store. They were on sale for 12 dollars
these are them but I got them in white

I chose "other" in your poll.
I was going to wear ballet slippers for my wedding because I wanted to be extremely comfortable. However, I fell in love with a dress that had a 6-inch lace trim on the bottom.
The dress was a few inches too long for me, but the bridal shop consultant told me that the dress could be taken up from the waist. So, I bought the dress and found out afterward that the dress actually could NOT be taken up from the waist.
So, I sold my ballet slippers on eBay and ended up buying 3-inch heels so that my dress wouldn't drag on the ground. My husband wasn't too thrilled about it because we're the same height, so I was noticeably taller than him during our wedding ceremony.

I chose other as well....I wanted blue shoes, and I had to have a bit of a heel so that I didn't have to have the hem altered (with my cathedral train it would have cost a mint)...so I picked blue shoes that were an okay price, but fairly comfortable...I also put on flip flops halfway through the reception and just let the front of my dress drag.

I chose comfort. I wore a pair of white sneakers (Sketchers) for the ceremony and reception.

I chose stylish and fashionable, because I knew I would be taking my shoes off during the reception. So, for the ceremony, I went with something dainty that complimented my dress style.

I've chosen other because I have 2 pairs for my wedding.
One pair which are beautiful. They are ivory but have black & grey embroidery curling around them which ties them in to what all the BP are wearing... They are just too high for me to wear for such a long time (my wedding will last from 1pm-1am)
I also have a cute pair of sparkly ballet pumps. They are sweet (if a little childish) but I'll be glad to put them on after a few hours in the heels.
ETA: the heels were bought because they are beautiful, the ballet slippers because of comfort & price (they were only £12! so about... $20!)

Just an idea:
I stood up in a wedding 2 years ago and the bride had decided on comfort (mind you the wedding was in Sept-so it wasn't very wet by us-in the Midwest of the USA) so she had bought us all satin slippers colored in the dress color we wore. She wore white satin slippers with some pearl beading on them to dress them up some and make it a little more "formal". I think she paid maybe $15 a pair and let me tell you I think it was the smartest thing she could do for her and her "girls". Comfort and price was what she was after and I think she came up with a happy medium. I also think you should take into account the terrain you'll be walking on also, before making a decision on something like shoes. Good luck, I hope you find what you're looking for!!! Congrads by the way....isn't it exciting?

My mother bought these for me yesterday.

I had a pair already but when I seen these I knew they would look great. I also wasn't 100% happy with the ones I had. They was just a solid white ankle strapped hill.

Believe it or not, I am wearing ballet type, Dearfoam slippers!!! They are white with a rubber sole, but no one will see them (which is why I can get away with this) because my dress hangs allthe way to the floor. I do have a back up pair of white low heels.

Yep! My FIL had a bet with someone at their table that I didn't have on sneakers. It was like this big controversy, but in a funny way, not a bad way. The photographer snapped a pic of me showing him, he lost $50, lol.

I havent done shoes yet but I am going for comfort all the way. I am thinking of doing flats (i have bad knees and not alot of extra length in my dress cause im 5 11) and then getting some cutesy flip flops for the reception if need be. Flats arent always that comfy
