Default who rides with the bride

Hi,
I was just wondering who generally rides to the ceremony with the bride. Is it usually just the bridesmaids, or does the father and mother of the bride also ride with them.
Thanks

I'm not sure, but welcome to Pash!!!!

At my cousin's wedding her mom rode with her and the bridesmaids. Her parents were divorced so that is probably why her father did not ride with them. I think anyone that the bride chooses can ride, as long as there is enough room!!

Normally just the bridesmaids, but the bride can certainly choose who she would like to ride with her based on room in the car, etc.

Welcome!

You can choose whoever you want. I personally rode with my MOH. It was kinda nice, i didn't have 10 people trying to talk to me, instead i just had her keeping me from being nervous.

I had my BM's in the limo with me, along with the girl who did the ceremony reading.

My husband rode in the limo with his daughter. It was a special time alone for them. I took a different car so we would have one after the wedding, plus I had to run by the Officer's Club, put the eucalyptus weaths around the candles, drape the cake and Head Table with flowers, put up the seating chart and the Parent Table Signs out, and then get to the chapel to meet the florist.

Her mother (with mother's best friend and the photographer) got lost and held up the wedding.

For his first daughter, I think all the maids piled into a car with bride and drove to chapel. I know the MOH (bride's sister) wasn't with them because they were bickering, and MOB was (subtly) encouraging the bickering.

You can do it with your parents, or with your maids.

Over here the mob & maid go in one car & then the bride goes with her dad, or whoever is giving her away.

But like the others said; there doesn't seem to be too many hard & fast rules for weddings anymore. Have whoever you want, who ever makes you happiest

And Welcome To Pash

I had my parents, my aunt and uncle (my uncle was officiating) and my BM's (incuding MOH & FG) in the limo with me.

My mother, my FMIL, and BMs will all be going to get our hair done early in the morning before the ceremony. We are all (except for FMIL) getting ready at the chapel, so we'll all be riding together/taking seperate cars and spending 2 hours at the chapel before the ceremony getting ready.

For my bro's wedding, the bridesmaids and moh are riding with the bride and the groomsmen with the groom to go take pictures. Then after the ceremony, the entire wedding party is piling up into 1 limo to go to the reception. (we're gettin a hummer limo for that)

There is no "hard and fast" rule for this. Here are all the ways I've seen/experienced:

Bride driving herself to ceremony site

Bride reserving limo for bride, bridesmaids, and flower girl

Bride riding in a car with the MOH, parents, or other person

Personally, I rode to the ceremony with my dad (I spent the night before the wedding at his house). I had my hair/make-up done at my dad's house; people present included my step-mom, my kids, my step-siblings, my best friend (bridesmaid), and her sister (she did my hair/make-up). I rode with my dad in his car, the bridesmaid and her sister rode in the sister's car, and my step-mom drove my kids and her kids.

My husband's parents brought him to the ceremony site. I was afraid he'd be late (he's almost ALWAYS late), so I did it under the guise of not wanting us to be stuck with an extra car.

My dad drove me and my husband to the reception site. My step-mom drove our kids and her kids. After the reception was over, my dad let us take home his car and he rode home with my step-mom and step-siblings. My kids spent the night at my cousin's house.

The most important thing to consider, particularly if you're using a limo to get to the ceremony site, is how everyone will get from the ceremony to the reception and from the reception back home (or to their cars). One of my cousins used a limo to transport her and the bridesmaids (I was one of them) to the ceremony. However, she made no arrangements for how the bridesmaids were getting to the reception and back to her house (where we left our cars). It was a mess.

Since I got ready at the hotel where my wedidng & reception were being held, I didn't have a "special" car ride. I went to get my hair and makeup done with my MOH (my mom) and then we arrived at the hotel where almost all of my BM's were staying.

Like the others have said, it's not necessarily a "supposed to" kind of thing. You can have whoever ride with you that you want.

Anyone the bride chooses. As for me, I'll ride with my Mom, Dad, and kid brother. My big brother does not want to.. so it will the the three of us.. It's like the last ride I'll share with my family before I change my surname.

We only rented one limo, and I had MOH, BM's. FG, my parents, aunt and uncle ride with us (my uncle was officiating, so I thought he should go in the limo). DH's guys and family swore they didn't need a limo, and DH rode in one of the best men's cars.

I know I posted already but that was before my wedding... In the end I just went with my Uncle as he was giving me away. He is quite quiet & it was nice to have that time just to reflect on my last moment of being single.

Either your parents or just your MOH or all your bridesmaids. It really depends upon you.

Yes, I agree with you. I prefer parents.
