Default Can you

emboss on glass? I'm wondering because I have some old high school dance champagne glasses that I'm wanting to use for the BP at the reception. You can very very lightly see the image that was there, and thought it'd be nice to personalize them anyways. So, would that work? Or should I stick to hot glue or super glue?

You can do, but I don't know if it'd be a massive PITA... Like etching do you mean?

Well, I hadn't meant etching but I did think of that on the way home. I was thinking about the kind you normally do/use on cards...the stamp, then the powder then you heat it. I dunno though. First I have to finish scraping all the images off the glasses with the razor blade. Fun stuff, let me tell ya. Lol.

I can imagine

I don't know if I'd like to try holding that heat gun to glass

A sticker might work or a clear address label.

I wouldn't mess around with the embossing gun and glasses. Especially since they're older, they very well may burst on you.

You can buy a cream and powder at most craft stores to etch the glasses. I think it's pretty affordable and has a frosted glass effect.

One thing that I have done, which is easy and cheap but not always as good looking as real etching, is used a sticky stencil and clear matte spray to create a frosted glass look. If you do that, make sure to be super careful in the way you wash the glasses and that none of the matte spray gets on the inside.

I was thinking etching as well. You mean, have a white frosted-like design/text? Places like Things Remembered to that. I don't know if you can bring in your own glasses or if you have to buy theirs, but I'd check with them.

Etching would work and FMIL keeps etching plates for every holiday/season. She uses a liquid she got at Micheals, you just use a sticky stencil and paint it on and it etches the glass, Mike has even put them through the dishwasher and their no worse for the wear.

I like etching, but it was pointed out to me that some people like to have pairs of glasses so they'll match. So I may just decorate them with some ribbon on the stem and use them for something else later. Until then, I've got four more glasses to scratch. Lol.
