what to do for rough elbows?
Ok I haven't told any one on here cause I'm kinda shy about it. I have one elbow that has always been rough. I'm talking since I was a little kid. It's don't matter what I do it stays rough. I put lotion on it every day the last month I have put lotion on it a dozen times a day. With in 10 min it feels like I haven't put any thing on it. I have used crack cream, dove, bath and body, and you name it I think I've tried it. I have 11 days till my wedding and I don't no what to do. Any one know of any thing I could try?

I have no idea but both my elbows and my one ankle bone is like that too. I've even applied vaseline and wrapped them in saran wrap overnight, no help.

Have you tried Zim's Crack Creme? I also have recently discovered bodycology body butter at Wal Mart and really really like it! I really don't have any other suggestions. Have you tried showing the pharamacist at WalMart or Walgreens to see what they recommend?

I had the ankle bone roughness. Just one ankle LOL. It looked like beef friggin' jerky. Palmer's Cocoa Butter in the *tub*. It's not a lotion or a cream, it's like gel almost, but it's condensed and really effective. You'll notice a change in a week I bet.

You could go to the salon and get your elbows dipped in wax. I had a manager that did that, and she said it helped her.

Do you happen to have the Mary Kay Satin Hands kit? If so, I would try that on your elbows. That kit makes your hands feel amazing. It's worth a try on your elbows.

exfoliate with "I'm in the mood for scrub" from bath & body works. It worked for my elbows, knees & upper arms also. Now I'm so so so smooth & soft

Mike has incredibly rough hands from golf. I bought him some of that stuff used on cow teets. No joke. Let me see if I can find it...

Worked for him in a couple of days and it doesn't smell perfumey (or like cow teets).

I have ask my doctor about it and he told me to use Zim's. I'm a big lover of Zim's and it works on my feet great but won't do any thing for my elbow. Udder cream I use it every day also! I have one of those wax things and it don't do nothing for it. Nothing from Bath and body has worked.
I'm going to try the Palmer's Cocoa Butter in the *tub* and see if the lady next door has the thing from Mary Kay. I also haven't did the wax thing in a few months I just turned it on so I'll see if it will do any thing this time.
Thanks Keep them coming if any one knows any thing!

Have you tried baby oil or just plain vaseline?

The Palmers is like a much thicker vaseline consistency. It has Vitamin E in it. I was trying to remember the stuff on the label to tell you. You literally have to dig a clump of it out and make it spread evenly over your dry area.

Soak in a hot tub and then scrub like mad with a strong exfoliant.
Put a rich cream on it after that. It worked for the dry spots on my ankles.

I have psoriasis on my right elbow. WARNING: This is gross...Is it so bad that the skin scales over and you have to keep scratching the skin off? Nothing really makes it go away; it's caused by stress. Is your elbow THAT bad--or just really dry?

Yea it bad It has became worse since I've been laying in the tanning bed. It makes me feel a lot better knowing I'm not the only one. But I really didn't want my elbows to look gross for the wedding.

Hmm. IF it were psoriasis the tanning bed would actually help clear it up. The UV rays is the best treatment for it. I don't go for the treatments (my pharmasist told me about it), but I do notice summertime it clears up. But, you said your doctor looked at it, so if it were that, he would have diagnosed you, I'm sure.

I pointed it out last time I was there and he told me to try Zim's cream. He said if it didn't clear up by my next apt. he would try something else. My other elbow use to be bad also but I have got it to clear up by putting tones of Zim's on it each day. But I have to put it on a few time a day if not it will start feel nasty.

LJ try this -
It's called Glysomed Hand Cream. I bought it at a drug store and it's amazing. I just found it in a purse I had packed away for a while. It's inexpensive too, $2.99 for 1.7 ml.

I got some Palmer's, Vaseline it starting to look and feel better but one spot. The worst spot right on the tip of my elbow. I put the Vaseline on last night b-4 bed and wraped it so it wouldn't get all over my bed and I've put palmers on a dozen of times today I'm going to keep it up for a few more days. I also did the lemon thing fallbride told me so who kn owes what one is helping the most.

This is funny b/c my dad uses Udder Cream. You can buy it at most drugstores I think. I would try that. Same kind of stuff that Heather is suggesting. He swears by it. http://www.simplybovine.com/products...creamlarge.php

"Oh Mike you're hands are so soft! But you smell like cow teets, back off."
