Default My head isn't so well right now

Alright ladies, I'm having some troubles. I thought I had seasonal allergies. I may still have that on top of whatever else is cooking but there's something else wrong.

This may be TMI but... I feel fine except for my head is stuffed full of snot. I blow my nose every couple of minutes because it's dripping. I've sneezed more than I can count. I even get that eye goober when I blow my nose. That's gross. My sinuses and behind my eyes feel like they might just explode. The thing is that the snot coming out isn't green like I thought it should be for a sinus infection. It's normal, just in mass quantities. Can you have an infection without the green color?

I've been taking an over the counter allergy medicine, thinking that would help but it hasn't stopped. I don't think I can handle blowing my nose and sneezing much more.

It sounds like REALLY BAD allergies. I would get to the Dr. to get on some meds. Feel better!

I had the worst sinus infection EVER and my mucous was not green, nor dark yellow, nothin'. I thought I had allergies, but no - just fck'd up sinuses. They put me on a steroid and it relieved SO much pressure. Definitely see someone. I went to the allergist first and found out I was allergic to nothing. So that narrowed things down quite a bit.

Definitely go see a Dr. - thats a no-brainer - don't wait - especially after what Vic just went through!!

See I grew up with the idea that you don't go to the doctor unless you're just about dead. Both of my parents were self-employed with basically no insurance and not a whole lot of income. We didn't go to the doctor for hardly anything and it was a huge deal when we did.

I'm trying to change my mind-set but it's hard. I made an appointment for next week. Unfortunatly my last day here at work is a week from today, Wednesday, and I'm out of town next Thursday through Sunday. I'll be able to keep my insurance through the 12th but that doesn't leave a whole lot of time to get into the doctor. Hopefully they'll be able to find everything when I go on Wednesday, otherwise it will have to wait until June and that's not going to be good.

I completely hear you on that. I could be bleeding out my eyeballs and I'd say, "I'm going to wait just one more week and see if it clears up on it's own. I'm taking some herbal pills..."

But, especially if you have insurance now, you SHOULD go. And even if you don't, a trip to the ER or wherever isn't an extraordinarily excessive amount of money (which I've figured out from being with Tom, who is currently without insurance and keeps slicing himself open on miscellaneous rusty stuff...). It's worth a few hundred bucks to be well.

My last ER visit was 1,800 so if you have the insurance you better try to get in the doc b-4 it runs out. I hope they find out what it is fast so u can feel better.

I went to the doctor last week and I was put on Amoxocylin and Allegra and she said I should get better. Well that was Thursday night and I've been taking the medication faithfully since Friday morning. It's now Tuesday and I still feel like crap and I don't know how I can keep having to blow my nose.

Now the fun part is, when I woke up this morning my eye hurt and was crusty. I'm pretty sure I have either pink eye or something similar that is currently having a field day in my eyeball. I get to once again go to the doctor this afternoon. I don't ever go to the doctor and now I get to go twice in less than a week.

The other fun thing is that I start my new job on Monday. The new job that during the interview asked about my attendance and I told them I don't have an attendance issue and in fact I rarely get sick, which is normally true. They might not believe me if I show up with a goobery head.

I just want to be better.

Dude, I had the EXACT same thing a week or 2 ago, crusty eye and everything. Amoxicillan isn't strong enough. I took Levaquin or some crap like that and it seemed to do the trick, only I'm still with the post-nasal drip and headaches. I also had Prednisolone (a steroid) to take the swelling in my sinuses down. You might need to see a specialist. I've even had some hearing loss from all of this.

Well then it's a good thing I've got insurance for another week. I don't want hearing loss and I'm so tired of feeling crappy. It gives me hope that there is something that will make it better though.

Yeah, the steroid worked miraculously. I know what you mean about being tired of feeling crappy. I was in tears the day I went to the Dr. because I was just so sick of it all. I'd been sick for over a month. It started as a cold and went into an infection I couldn't kick. It just sucked. I was tired all the time, upset because I couldn't make it stop. Over-the-counter stuff was worthless, allergy stuff didn't work, sinus stuff was ineffective, cold stuff was worthless. It was bad. I know your pain, girlfriend. You're gonna be better soon

When I started feeling crappy besides the allergy medicine they put me on some antibiotic that you take for three days but I guess they said it works for 10 days? Those pills were huge!
