Default I think they were going for Stretch Armstrong...

... but I feel like an old lady instead.

For a long while now my hip has gotten stuck randomly. It just sometimes doesn’t quite straighten so I have to kind of pop it back into place. It didn’t ever really hurt it was just annoying. While I was at the doctor, she asked how my joints were doing so I mentioned the issue. She felt around and decided I should go to physical therapy to fix the problem.

I went six times and each time they warmed the joint with ultra-sound and then pulled up and stretched and pulled at the joint. I have a giant rubber band that I’m suppose to do an exercise at home with. I’m not suppose to sit for more than an hour without getting up, even to just stand for a minute. I was a good girl and I did what I was supposed to do. I followed all the rules and they said I could “graduate” from PT. It only hurt when they tried to test my joint and squished me into this weird position with my foot way too close to my head and sometimes when I would forget to get up every hour.

I’m done and instead of being better, it aches. It hasn’t gotten stuck in a month but at least when it was getting stuck it didn’t hurt. I’m hoping that eventually I’ll just go back to the way it was but for now I went through all the Gumby positions and it’s still hurting.

Unhappy

When did you finish the physical therapy? I wonder if what they were doing was keeping you stretched out enough that it didn't tighten up on you as much? I'm sure it's hard to be cognizant of the exercises when you're not in that "going to physical therapy" mode to keep you focused. Sorry it hurts. Did you call your doctor?

Maybe it hurts b/c you are using muscles in a way you're not used to using them. Hopefully they just need to heal a bit and then it'll start feeling tons better. When I got my elliptical at home, my hip starting hurting really bad. I was really irritated b/c we just paid a lot of money for this elliptical. But, I gave it some time and it healed and now never hurts any more. Good luck!
