Poems
I only just found this bit of the site!
(has it always been here?)
Anyway, I thought I'd share what I'm going to be using in case anyone wants to pinch it
I've bought photo frames for both mums, but instead of leaving them empty until we buy the photo I'm going to put a wee poem inside each one.
Now be warned, these poems are nauseatingly sweet, but the mums will like them!
Poem for MOG,
You are the mother I received
The day I wed your son.
And I just want to thank you, Mum
For all the things you've done.
You've given me a gracious man
With whom I share my life.
You are his loving mother and
I his lucky wife.
You used to pat his little head,
And now I hold his hand.
You raised in love a little boy
And gave to me a man.
Poem for MOB,
You are the Mother I received
the day I wed my wife.
And I just want to thank you, Mom
for bringing her to life.
You raised and loved your little one
with guiding hands and praise,
She's now the beauty of my life
in many cherished ways.
You have given me a special friend
who's always by my side,
I know you were as proud as I
the day she was my bride.

lol - i saw the original spelling too! you're busted!
I love those poems! I wish I would have seen them while I was planning the wedding. I would have loved to have given them to our Moms. I still may send it via e-mail to my MIL.

Ann, I have saved a poem similar to that for my future MIL. Saddly I won't have one so I don't get to share how blessed I feel to have DF in my life with anyone.

OOoO I like the poems! How was it spelt before *wishing I'd seen it...* lol!
I think those would make sweet wedding gifts for the MILs... Hmmm maybe one of those photo uhh thingys where u can flip it open and it has 2 pictures, one opposite the other? One side has the wedded couple; the other, the poem. ????

peom ah the shame!
I think it'd be nice in one of those double frames. Both mums were pleased with them, you can tell becuase it is three weeks since the wedding & they still both have them sitting on their side tables. If they didn't like them they would have been relegated to the hall by now
