Sleep
Some of you may remember that I experience sleep paralysis once in a while - sometimes up to 3x per week or more. Just read this article - anyone else ever have it?

That has happened to me on rare occasions. Usually if I am really sick or stressed out.

It used to happen to me a lot especially when stressed. For some reason it has not happened in awhile. Which is weird because I have been pretty stressed lately. It is pretty freaky and scary.

Nope. The only thing that happens to me is that I do work in my sleep when I am stressed out and when falling asleep sometimes I could swear that I hear people whispering my name.

A few times a week I will have really bad dreams and it's like I'm trying to wake my self up but I can't. It's like I can't move my body but I'm not sure this is talking about the same thing.

I experience this but I have never thought I was going to die. I do sometimes *think* I can hear someone who has broken into my house or other things that didn't happen. I am not sure if it is the same thing.
Heather- aren't you on bed rest?

I can be asleep and hear my door open and shut or hear like some one said something to me. I get up and look around and no one is there.

It sounds like you're all experiencing various forms of hypnagogia.
I experience hypnagogic hallucinations (visual stuff) before I fall asleep sometimes. I see flashes of faces, places and situations. Like last night I was given a flash of a woman sitting at a desk with her back turned to me. In the past I was shown a flash of the Pope, dead. I usually see really screwed up faces or random places I've never been. I sometimes experience hypnopompia (the waking version of hypnagogia). When I experience that, it's auditory. I wake with songs in my head - like I'm singing them as I'm waking up.
About how sleep paralysis and hypnagogic hallucinations can occur in people without being narcoleptic.
