Default Tanning

Ok I've been tanning for years in a bed. Never had no problems I've been tanning since the 1st always 24 hours in between each visit. I've started to tan really good like always. But today I have a rash or something on my tits and upper belly. It's itches and burns! I don't know if I have burnt my self or if the lotion I used is doing this. I didn't use a tingle just a bronzer! I've burnt my self b-4 in a bed and it don't look nothing like this. But its red and has little bumps under it almost like wrinkles u find on a 80 year old. Thank god this is not on my arm or legs my close covers it. Just wanted to know if any one has had this happen.

Sorry Lj, I don't tan so I can't help you, but I hope and pray it's alright and you haven't developed a sensitivity!

I've had something like that happen, but with outside sunlight exposure.

My dermatologist told me it was a version of sun poisoning. I had little red bumps, and then some fine-line wrinkling, then some weepy skin.

One of the reasons I stopped trying to tan myself in my early thirties. That, the skin cancers, and the ultimate over-aging I saw in my sun-worshipping mother and her friends.

I don't do it a lot I just do it for about a month every year maybe 2. The only reason I'm doing it now is for the wedding. I have been laying in a ultra bronzer bed it's one of the new kind it is not post to have any UV rays. If that makes any since. Wynelle what did your doc do for it?

Is it one of those UVB (instead of UVA)beds?? Those you are only supposed to go into for a max of 3-5 minutes. I don't know much about it though.

Must be a different type of bed. It only has bulbs on one side you lay on a bed and the canopy comes over top of u. You lay 10 Min's then it beeps and you roll over and lay for another 10 min. I'm going to try to find it on line.

It's almost went away so I'm not sure what it is. I can still see it but it's really light. It does itch a little but it don't burn I felt a little better once I washed it with a shampoo. It's the green shampoo for dandruff. I once was told it would kill any thing. So I would if I got something off the bed that made it do that.

lj, if someone had a type of infection and they bed was not cleaned properly, it could have been caused by that. I got a rash on my back from tanning in a bed that wasn't cleaned properly. After that I started rewiping the bed down again. sorry this is happening to you. I hope it goes away soon.

There is no cleaning these beds it's a mattress with a sheet over it. I always see them changing the sheets i just wounder if they forgot to this time. I think I'm going to take a towel to lay down on from now on. Thanks

OHHHH GOD that thought is repulsing me LJ - they forgo tto change the sheets? no no no say it ain't so. Ugh I have to think about other things - take myself to a happier place.

I prefer the stand machines - so I'm not laying in anything of anyone else. I also don't tan right on any bed. I always end up with a line down each side of my back - as if there is a space where there is a full inch of no bulbage.

I had sun poisoning once, like that. They used sea kelp or something to help it go away - it was bad though. Hope yours keeps getting better. Good thinking with teh green shampoo

See I get white marks down the sides if I lay in a regular bed. This bed is post to tan u really fast and it has but I just don't know if I had a reaction to the lotion or if something was on the bed. Not sure I hope a little is still left so I can show when I go in on Tues. Maybe they might know what it could be. I belive if it was sun poison it would not of went away like it is. We will see what happens thanks ladies.
