Default Donation Favor wording

I want to donate to the American Cancer Society in honor of my guests but I can't think of how to word it. I don't want it to say "in lieu of..." because I will also have choc. covered pretzels. Can you all help me think of a elegent wording for this.

Default Now I'm talking to myself...

Ok, how does this sound? Is it grammatically correct..

"A donation to the American Cancer Society has been given in honor of those who share this day with us presence and in spirit."

do you mean "us in presence"? I think it is a wonderful thing and with each of those you could use something like a ribbon for cancer awareness or something.........

thanks, I was looking and looking and I was like I spelt presence the same... then I got it, "IN presence"

I was thinking of putting a purple ribbon either printed above it or with actual ribbon but (I may be over analyzing this) my color is lavendar. Would it seem too planned, like I had a cancer awareness themed wedding if I put a purple ribbon on it?

No I don't think so, you might get some questions about why you decided to donate but it's up to you about answering those questions or not. Or you could print why in your program......... I think it is a very loving and generous thing.

I think that's a really great (and generous idea!) The wording sounds good now that Kim pointed out the "in" presence.

Thank you. I lost my mom to cancer so it is important to me. Both my mom and my grandma died at too young of an age (late 40's) and so many people in my life are facing similar situations.

Doddlebug - I think that is fantastic of you and I think the wording is perfect!! I'd be honored to be at a wedding and see that in place of a favor! What a great thing. I'm sorry you lost her so young, although I'm sure she's going to be sooo close to you that day (and every day)!

I think it's an amazing, touching idea. I think your guests will love it

The wording sounds fine, and I'd not worry about whether the think you have a charity themed wedding! These people know you & will undersatnd the reasoning behind it.

ok, settled. That's what we are doing. We had originally planned to do a picture of us as a favor but you all won. After thinking about it for the last 6 or so months, I realized, finally, that I wouldn't want a picture of my cousin, or even close friend with her fience. I would rather put my money towards something meaningful.
