LOL... I don't really know how we decided.
I just kinda said, what about navy blue, lt blue and silver. (blue is his favorite) He said sure... it was done. No muss, no fuss.
I kinda like being that kind of bride. There are only a few things (my dress, invites, outdoor wedding, being a budget bride!) that I am really dead set on and unwaivering. The rest will be what it will be.

I used the colors in my family tartan. Our daughters/sisters wore white blouses and long skirts on one of the colors (they chose which color), and the plaid thrown over their shoulders.
Daughter #1 was married in a garden in the spring and she choose silk slipdresses in ivory with purple/lavender flowers she had seen in the garden the previous spring.
S/Daughter #2 was married in June, I have no idea why she chose dark cranberry dresses. Her MOH hated the color and style of the dresses.
S/Daughter #3 got even. She had to decide among various "springy" colors and chose a color called "peach" but was more like irridescent tangerine. A color her sister the MOH looked horrible in.

I don't even have colors. I didn't plan to have colors before when I was planning something larger. When we *first* starting wedding-talking I wanted like a turquoise color with some kind of beigy-peach looking color in representation of the sand and sea.

Well - I'm going with rich Fall colors. Why, you ask? CAUSE YOU GUYS TOLD ME TOO just kidding.. it'll depend on what dress I decide, since I want a white dress with some color to it...so based on that we'll see what colors go best for the BM & theme...

It's pretty much been all about green and some soft accent colors since the start. We didn't really discuss or anything. I just picked them and went with it. I think it actually started last summer when we were on the lake and there were beautiful water lilies on lily pads and I wanted to incorporate that into our theme. Well the flowers and lily pads and fallen away but the green has remained strong.

I actually didnt decide. My girls did. When we first went to look at dresses, I wanted red. Well, then the girls found a dress in green that they both liked. I said it didn't matter to me. The second time we went to look at dresses, both the girls fell in love with a silvery blue dress that looked fabulous on both of them. Hence why I had the colors I had!

I chose blue because it is DH and my favorite color. I went with the bright, sapphire blue, because I'm just not into pastels and I thought navy would be too drab for my tastes. And, because we were marrying in September. (The Sep birthstone is Sapphire -- as is my horoscope birthstone.)

Ditto.
Black and white with silver and red as an accent colors for simple things like the candle holders.

LMFAO!!! that's wicked but very, very funny (I wound my MOH up about that, I told her she was getting a 'prawn pink' dress!)
I wanted ivory because I just don't like myself in white. I'm just too pale to carry white & look healthy. I wanted a dress that my MOH would be able to wear again, and would be comfortable in. I chose black because our whole crowd who met through rock/metal music) all wear a lot of black,. Everyone of us would be comfortable in that... Mo liked the black kilts too...
Em the green was a compromise, I wanted a silvery gray for the FGs but every fabric sample I found looked dirty against the ivory of my dress Mo & I wanted to use black but his family took a huff about that. So I went shopping one day & found a very pretty, very light sage green. I love it now
I think that is about as colorful as we're getting I just don't do bright colours.

I chose black and white because I wanted more of a "theme" than a color scheme. We wanted everything to follow sort of a 40's glamour...like an old black and white movie...hence.....

I don't think I ever picked specific colors. I just knew we were having a beach theme, so there were certain colors associated with that. Then I was in a bathroom done in peach and white and loved how those colors looked together and thought that was what I wanted, but when we picked the BM dresses, there was one I loved that everyone agreed on, but since I wanted MOH in a lighter shade, I had to find two shades in the swatches that worked well together, and the peach they had didn't really work with anything else, so I gave up the peach idea and just decided to use muted pastels.

I more or less let FH decide (which I knew would be blue, b/c he loves blue), I just told him silver WAS going to be an accent. Lol.
But, I've said for years that my colors would either be lt. blue, white, and silver or red, white, and silver. So it's still pretty close to what I'd have picked.

Well, I'm doing chocolate brown as a base with various colored accents. I just love dark brown and think it is rich and soft, so that was easy. And I really liked those cocktail napkins I posted in the other thread and thought really subtle splashes of those colors would be very fun and not too feminine.

we did colors to match our family plaids too, and also the plaids taht the girls wore (fabric was too expensive to use from our plaid 60 some dollars a yd and it had to be shipped, so it had the colors of our plaid in it so it was close enough for me).

Blue is my favorite color. It is also DH's fave color. I wanted baby blue; he wanted navy. We compromised and had indigo (medium) blue.

My first Pick was Lavender with silver and so we started planning. Then every time I looked at the lavender I wasn't happy so Kenny picked the red and black and since I already had silver we mixed in there too.

Hey we are doing black and white too! my bridesmaids will be wearing black dresses with a red ribbon just under the bust, and the boys will just wear black suits with white shirts. Our table clothes will be white and the chairs black
The way we decided was from the flowers I had in my boquet at our registry office wedding - ohhhh I want to post a pice here so you can see it - cru5h I need your help!!!!
Anyway the flowers in my boquet were maroon red and ivory roses and I am going to have the same kind of boquet for our NZ wedding - I am going to have my girls wear wrist corsages rather than carry boquets just to be a little different!

So far, I'm going with a teal shade and champagne. I would like an elegant "seashore" theme- with out all the "props" like flip flops and beach umbrellas. So, the next logical step was to let the color set the tone. I didn't want any tropical bright colors like orange and yellow and bright turquoise, and I am so tired of blue (I wear it all the time...) so I muted the turqoise to a deep teal and got the champagne from the sand. We'll probably have black accents (FH wants to wear a black tux) to make it seem a little more "formal". But, this might all change when I actually go to look for bridesmaid dresses in champagne and can't find any.....

I wanted a fall wedding... so I chose the fall colors. Was not a hard decision, the hardest part was who was in what color. (All my BM will be in a different fall color)

That's what I'm going to do too!!!
I'm going to have the corsage ribbon made of black organza, which is what the lace-up backs of the FG dresses are made of. I've not seen it done in Scotland so I think it'll be a nice change.

our colors are red and ivory. we decided on red when looking for a color that photographs well and would pop with our ceremony location that has many many flowers. apple red was our choice and ivory because my dress is ivory, i didnt want white.

We chose our colors based on the colors of the ocean. We both love water and being near the ocean, so we chose aqua blue and sea foam green with lots of white, since we love the beaches with white sand. (Of course we have none of those here in WA.)
