Default pastels

I am getting married & I want to do my wedding in pastels because it will be close to Easter of next year. Anyone have any suggestions? I was thinking maybe pastel blue for the bridesmaids. But what would the groomsmen wear in that color? Should I use pastel pink & yellow for decorations. I am totally clueless. Please help.

I'm assuming by groomsmen you mean that they'll wear standard tux/suits and the pastel will come in to play with their ties/cumberbunds or whatever accessories they wear.

I like pastel blue as an idea. And maybe light grey suits for the guys with pastel blue accents. Even pink. If your guys would do it Pink is the new black I love pink on a guy, that's why I suggested it. I did grow up with Miami Vice afterall.

Words of advice:
1) Be ready to buy things for the wedding after this Easter. 50-75% off
2) Don't choose pastel themes just because the wedding is close to Easter. You can choose whatever colors you want. I can almost guarantee no one would question your motives.

What about a different pastel color for each BM and GM?

You should be able to get some great deals next week to decorate with!!! Those facetted pastel easter eggs might be really pretty in a big bowl as a centerpiece.

Pastel candies as favors.

Pastel parosel drink umbrellas for place cards

Let your imagination go wild and have fun!!!

Welcome to Pash

I think pastel colours could be really pretty.

Actuall I have a photo of a cake that might work along those lines... give me a min.

I'd keep most things neutral and just go with very pale pinks, blues, greens, yellows & lavenders.

Of course that's just my vision, you can have whatever you'd like

Why don't you tell us some more?

I looked for a picture of a light blue and light green. What I have pictured in my head it looks good together. I agree with cru5h u don't have to go with spring colors My wedding is 2 weeks after easter and I am going with black and red and silver. Do what colors u want. I'm still going to say stay away from putting pink and blue together. But thats just me! Gray for the guys would look nice if u go with light colors. I went to a wedding once she has 11 or 12 BM and they all had different shades of pastels and it was really nice.

Hey there! I saw a great idea for a spring time wedding- i had all the bridesmaids in white dresses with a sash or skirt (it was from the back-hard to tell) that had a pastel in 5 colors- pink, yellow, blue, green, lavander. With daisies and some other full flowers (not small buds) in light shades of these colors as the bouquets. Looked beautiful and fesstive.

I agree about pink & blue together... unless the are paired with other colors. Easter always remides me of spring green, yellow, and pinks (or blue).

A really neat centerpiece idea is a "birds nest" or bird house with colored eggs inside or around that contain those sugar coated almonds. Surrounded by petals and some greenery (like Ivy) would look sweet.

If the bridesmaids wear light blue, the men don't have to wear light blue vests. They would look better with a sapphire blue against a black tux, or gray tux with gray vest - more masculine than light blue. Or, if you go with yellow for the ladies, the men can wear gold or beige vests.

My wedding is just over a month away and my bridesmaids are also wearing a light blue:

http://www.dessy.com/index.cfm?go=dresses&style=2037

The color is "arctic"

The groomsmen will be wearing a medium grey tux and they will have a small boutonniere that will be a darker blue petal flower as a contrast.

I think the idea of pastels is very pretty, but what does your FH think? I only bring it up b/c the first thing I thought of was that my DH would never have gone for pastels. But if he would, then I think it would be beautiful.

The link to that BM dress is gorgeous!! I love it!

Ohhh I love that dress from Dessy! That rocks!! I love the pastel idea - and I like the idea of the same dress but different color sashes...something like that would be cool I think! I also love the cake that was posted - that was beautiful. Its making me doubt my Autumn nuptuals

Pastels are AWESOME expecially in the spring! On thing you could do is have each bridesmaid wear a different color of jewelry! Pastel green, pink , blue, purple, yellow....etc! There are some beautiful crystals out there for you to use in designs, and you can even get them custom designed! Lynnie
