Thumbs up Those Choxie candies...

Okay, the commercials are bad enough so that I could post about them in our other thread...but these candies are GOOD and affordable.

I just got a 10oz container of dark chocolate truffle meltaways (about 30 candies) with 4 different fillings (raspberry lemon biscotti, espresso, mint cookie crunch, and deep dark chocolate) for $5 at Target. They are really delicious and way cheaper than other gourmet chocolates (I'm thinking of Lindt or Gertrude Hawke). As I'm munching away, I'm thinking they might be good in favor boxes. And I know there are other varieties.

If there's a Target near you...mmmm.

Default Mmmmmmmm...chocolate...

I am glad you posted this! I have been seeing these at Target. They are so pretty with the painted designs too. I am a chocoholic, but I have been hesitant to try these. I figured it was kind of gimmicky so it wouldn't be good. Like waxy easter candy or something. Cool! At that price I can afford to buy a bunch and give them as gifts to people who stop by around Christmas. Thanks for the review CW!

I'm glad you shared, b/c when I hear the name of this candy I keep thinking of that Friends episode where Monica had to invent recipes for that chocolate substitute, Mocholate (sp?). I know they sound nothing alike, but for some reason that's what it makes me think of. Choxie sounds like a chocolate substitute name. I know, I'm weird. I'll have to try them now though.

I had the same problem - the other day, I asked where the Mocolate bar was (that was the word I kept thinking of).

Unhappy I hate hypoglycemia!

I have hypoglycemia (basically the opposite of diabetes), so I can't eat sugar. Every once in a while I might splurge, but then I literally feel drunk from the blood sugar rush and then get really dizzy and moody and my brain can't function when the blood sugar immediately drops really low from eating the sugar. I wish I could try some choxie! Can I tell you how much "sugar free chocolate" sucks?!?!? Every time I see some "sugar free" treat, I give it a try, but it's never good. Not only does it not taste the same, but the TEXTURE isn't even like chocolate, not to mention the warnings that the maltidol (sugar substitute) "can causing cramping and a laxative effect." Yuck!! And, TMI, yep, it does! I miss chocolate and ice cream and creme brulee and soda...

Ohhhhh, MTGH. That sucks. I don't know if I'd ever have the self control to avoid sugars. I'm a nasty glutton.

I only like sugar free hot chocolate as far as sugar free chocolate goes. I have a tendency to put on weight very quickly so I try to stay away from sugar but I do splurge once in a while, hehe.

I have not tried Choxies yet but it has me interested. I too hate the commercials but I was wondering do they have those colorful designs on them?

I love the choxie design (and name) but didn't love the candy itself. I may be biased - nothing is better than an ooey gooey caramel and chocolate brownie!
