Default First Shower

I had my first bridal shower today. It was a lot of fun!

Two of my friends threw it for me and it was mostly friends from an organization I'm in and some neighbors and such. There were 14 people there, not counting me.

We played a little trivia game about cakes and then wedding bingo. As we went around introducing, people put the names on a bingo card. Then as I opened gifts they marked off names and got a prize when they got bingo.

There were lots of fabulous gifts and it wa sa nice afternoon with friends. Then I came home and started working on making my thank-you cards.

In college I had a toaster in my dorm room. It got used pretty much every day between my roommate and myself. She wasn't as nice to it though. Routinely the bread bag melted to the side because it was too close. Most of the time they were red bags so it looked like my toaster had gashes that were bleeding. I came back after being gone for the weekend and somehow the lever part didn't work so much anymore so we had to use a knife to kind of wedge the bread down and back up again.

My friend, who is kind of like a psuedo-grandma to me, heard about my toaster and that I was still using it (and I've been out of college for almost 2 years) and was afraid I would zap myself or something so she gave me her old toaster to use.

She was one that was at the shower. She went to the store to look at our registry and the first thing she saw was the new toaster we picked out and had to buy it for us. As I was opening the box she was so excited and had to tell the story. It was so cute and now I have a wonderful brand new toaster!

Ann, I'm getting there with the organization. I think we're doing well but I'm still starting to stress even more than before. It's coming up so quickly and I feel like I haven't done much lately even though I know it's because there's not much left to do.
