Smile Good luck!!

Hope you get it! Just one question: I wonder if churches have a problem with a red aisle runner. I don't know why that would possibly be--just something striking me about the "purity" of white and what that would "mean" to them if you walked in on a {gasp! } red carpet. I know, I know... Churches can just have odd rules when it comes to decorating. I'm only thinking that since they seem SO strict with all of the "throwing" stuff.

Churches in general shouldn't...I've know I've never heard of a theological stance that was opposed to the use of colors other than white in weddings (and I have heard a lot of whacky -- IMO -- theological stances), but MTGH makes a good point, you might want to check...and I really think that if you're paying a site fee to use the church, they ought to be allowing you to throw things (or blow bubbles or whatever you want). I know we have a "wedding contract" of sorts that outlines the appropriate amount of money to pay our janitorial staff and all that, assuming that you will have things that require extra cleanup like throwing rice or petals in the aisle or whatever. All part of the package...

Hope you get the runner, it would be perfect for your new color scheme!

My church has no regulations on aisle runners or their color, but they do not allow anything to be tossed or blown inside because of staining and other clean up issues. Anything thrown outside must be cleaned up by the wedding folks (and not just swept into the gardens). So, it's worth checking the regs. We didn't blow or throw anything at any point, and no one even commented on it.

It is not in the contract so I'm not even going to ask. There seats are covered in red so I don't think any thing would be said. I just love the ideal of a red carpet. I day and 21 hours left I'm excited and no one is bidding on it yet...

LJ just be careful if you get it when you walk on it, since it's plastic and could be slippery. Practice first!

Default Red Carpet

Our church has a deep red/burgandish carpet, so a bright red runner wouldn't look very nice. Did you check on the color of your church's flooring?

I found a better one for $30 on a web site that I'm going to check out. I haven't measured the aisle yet but mom thinks I need more then 50 ft. So I didn't waste my money. They have red carpet in the church but the aisle is hard wood floor. I still have not made it back up there but I'm hoping my mother and me can go this week so I can get pictures.

Also check with rental centers if you don't have a future need for the aisle runner. In my area all of the rental centers carry red runners. They are often used at grand openings (think "roll out the red carpet"). Most are actual carpet (very low pile) on a rubber backing, so they are not slippery at all. We use them all the time to create an aisle in locations other than churches.

I think a red runner would be great! We didn't use one for our wedding, but if I would have seen a red one, I may have. It would have looked great with our colors of red, black & silver/white.

We had a red carpet aisle runner because we got married in an outdoor courtyard. The aisle runner was included in our "site fee".

Where we got married:

I guess you can't see the aisle runner that much but you get the idea.

The place was really impressive. They handled everything. Music, decorations, the rehearsal, set-up, and clean-up. It cost only $450 and was free if you have the reception there.
