What about:
  • Hiring a caterer
  • Seating chart (if you're going to have one)
  • Purchasing gifts for the wedding party members
  • Planning the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner
  • Putting together an "emergency kit" for the wedding day (e.g., safety pins, needle and thread, etc.)
  • Hair and makeup arrangements

I'm sure there are more things to think about; this is what I'm coming up with right now.

No caterer (food is included with reception)
no seating arrangements

Sponsors are all the people that will help us pay for the wedding.
This is done tradionally in a mexican wedding. (I know what ur thinking, Lucky)
We ask a whole bunch of people to help us pay for the wedding. Mainly close family members and close friends. The people who are intending to get married one day or have children usually accept because they know they will one day need it. Usually they "pitch in" anywhere from $100 - $200 then their name is included in the invitation or as an insert as a way of thanking them and are also thanked during the reception.
But believe me, Its still a pain. We both have to go to their house and ask them personaly, then a few months later call them to see if they have the money. Usually the couple doesnt pay for a single thing. But because I'm not the one to ask for things. we are paying for about half.

I have a few more things to think about...

  • Have you gone through the legalities?
  • Checked that everything you need legally is in order?
  • Got your birth certificate ready?
  • If you're having a religious ceremony have you picked out the hymns & music? What about the readings? Have you chosen them & chosen some one to read them?
  • Have you got your honeymoon sorted out?
  • Have you had a trial for your hair or make up? Have you looked at different ways you might like them?
  • Have you made a short list for your photographer of the shots you would hate to miss out on? They know their own job, but it can help if you have difficult family circumstances or very large families to have a plan together to discuss with the photographer.
  • Are you having any sort of cake topper? Does it come with the cake or will you need to order one?
  • Have you thought about the reception decorations? Are you happy with the flowers they will provide (all I'm adding are candles to mine) or would you like anything extra?
  • Will your guests need to be transported between the ceremony & the reception? Have you priced that?
  • Have you thought about gift registry? Have you any favourite department stores? Have you tried to make a list of what you might need for your home?

But to be perfectly honest, I think I over think things Maybe you don't need to do all the things I put myself through!
