Default Must to do about Hair

I have no idea how I want to do my hair. I have bridal portraits this Sunday and I don't have any ideas. Well I have a few...down or half down, simple..no tight curls! Other than that...I'm clueless. I've been looking for pictures online but have had no luck.

my advice is to think about how you feel the most comfortable... you don't want to look or feel uncomfortable all day, you don't want to fuss with your hair all day. I always put my hair up when I want to be comfortable, some women like to let their hair down & loose instead. Once you've addressed comfort, there's the issue of how to accentuate your features.

As far as curls, soft, loose curls are in style now. You could have your stylist use irons in a variety of barrel sizes for a more natural look...

Oh, and what are you wearing on your head: veil, tiara, combs, pins, flowers?

ACK! Your portraits are Sunday!? Talk about waiting till the last minute! lol What if you go in Sunday and have your pictures taken and think the hairdo sucks? If you can, I'd try to schedule a quick trial run between now and then to find something you really like... and if it works with whatever headpiece you'll have (if you have one). At my trial run, we realized I had to completely redo my headpiece and veil... which was done by the time the bridal portaits were taken.

Here are some pics of the hairdo's used at my wedding to give you some ideas (they're not the best pictures of hair, but it's all I have on the computer):

(Doesn't my ex look like a complete douche bag? lmao I hate him!)

I have one picture of a hairstyle I want...we'll see if I change my mind. My SIL is an Art Director at a top salon here in Texas and she does a lot of model's hair and make up. I'm not too concerned about liking it. If anything, I feel like the bridal portraits are a trial run for the wedding day.

Is it bad to have different hair in the portriats and the wedding?

naw I don't think it matters if the hairstyles are different.

And yay for Margie's sister! That's excellent.

As long as you're happy with the way your hair looks both times, I don't think it matters if they are the same or different.

Just remember that there will be pictures of both that's you'll hopefully want to look at for years to come so make sure that you actually like what's done on Sunday (even if it is the trial run for the wedding.)

I ended up having different flowers for my portrait, because the ones I wanted for the wedding (which I used in the portrait session), were not available for my actual wedding. Apparently, the crop rotted during Katrina. My wedding was Sep 3. So, I had to have an alternative filler flower for the wedding day.

I should have my actual bouquet in time for the pictures.

Darn hurricane! We are still dealing with Katrina stuff here. I'm headed to your great state Thursday for work. How far are you from Birmingham?

Here are a few of my favorites. They are all half up half down because I don’t like my hair in an up-do. But to find more ideas you can check out the knot’s hair gallery (http://weddings.theknot.com/gallery/...aspx?gallery=7)

About 1.5 hrs. My brother is in B-ham at school at UAB. He also works 3rd shift at one of the Kinko's in town, if you need anything printed while you're there.

What will you be doing there?

PS The flowers were for both my bouquet and my hair. That's why I brought them up.

I'll be working at Birmingham Jefferson Convention Center. Pastor Joel will be doing "An Evening with Joel Osteen" there on Friday and I am going to help train the volunteers.

(For anyone who doesn't know who Joel Osteen is...he is the pastor of Lakewood church) I work for Lakewood in the young adult ministry. He also has a best seller right now...Your Best Life Now.

Something from the stylist who did my hair that I didn't even think of. I went in thinking I wanted my hair half up and half down (pulled back from my face, but loose down the back). But his first question was, will you be dancing a lot? Because hair down your back will get sweaty and might lose any kind of style (waves, curls) you put into it. DH and I are not big dancers so it wasn't an issue, but it was something that hadn't even occurred to me.

I like that one too but I don’t think my hair can be styled that way. That’s why I keep looking.

Out of curiosity, is Joel Osteen performing your wedding?

No he isn't. I requested a really good friend of mine who is also a Pastor on staff. I love Pastor Joel...but he doesn't do weddings. So I didn't want to ask to pull any strings. Besides, the pastor that is doing it has been there since the beginning of our relationship and knows us really well.
