Candles
I'm going to throw this back out there because it got a good reception at the start of the year on the old board, thought I'd let the new girls get to see!
I think I'm going to adapt it to give to my FH coz we're not giving traditional gifts to each other. (plus I'd really like to get this but can't ask anyone for it )
Some of the girls had suggested adding a nice pair of candle sticks with the basket, I think that's a great idea.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A basket of candles they’ll come in a pair,
In all different colors, for you both to share.
The white ones burn first,
They are wrapped in white lace,
Celebrate your first married night,
In your new chosen place.
The green pair is taller, and also much thinner,
Burn with the first company you have over for dinner.
The dark blue candles for your first fight,
Burn while making up all through the night!
Two red candles should help pave the way,
For your first married Saint Valentine's Day.
Now, when your first year of marriage is through,
The cream pair will help light the way for you two.
Gold candles aflame, both your futures are bright,
Celebrate promotions you've worked for with all of your might.
By this time we hope that maybe, just maybe,
You can light the purple ones, on the birth of your baby.
And just when you thought that you'd put these away,
Light the pale blue ones for your fifth anniversary.
Now just one more pair left for the big twenty five,
This last pair shows that your love’s still alive.
Congratulations on the start of forever,
May you ever & always be happy together!
So burn these candles just like we said,
But please don’t forget- blow them out before bed!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(BTW I've modified it slightly since last time & you can change the candles to whatever colour you have to put in!)

That is cute! I somehow missed it last time so I copied it and I'll think of people to use it for.

I really like this. I have a cousin who will (hopefully) be getting engaged soon. I'd love to give her this for a wedding or shower gift. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, thanks for posting that again Ann. We have 2 weddings to attend next year, these will make great gifts. And I make my own candles, so there you go! I nice, yet inexpensive wedding gift.
