As long as the periwinkle color on the solid dresses looks good against the flowered dress, they will look fine. Actually, I think it's fitting to have the jr. dressed slightly differently than the rest. After all, she's not an adult, so she should probably not have an adult dress.

The bad thing about periwinkle blue is if you don't have the dresses side by side they won't match. If you like the flower dress then put it beside the BM dresses and see if it will match.

Is periwinkle one of colors in this floral pattern? If so, I think it will look very nice together (and if the shade's a little off, it's not as noticable as a solid color would be).

I agree with this, periwinkle is one of those colors that is up for some interpretation. If they all went out w/ swatches or bought from the same place, that might be helpful.

I think that as long as the floral pattern matches, it will look quite nice. Just make sure it doesn't make your jr BM feel like a baby or less a part. If it does, it might be worth looking into purchasing her an actual Jr BM dress from a bridal boutique or chain.

I agree with what the other ladies said. With a directive of "periwinkle," chances are none of the dresses will match. Have they bought the dresses yet? If not, I'd suggest doing a David's Bridal or an Alfred Angelo thing where the girls can pick their own style in the same exact color/fabric. I agree that the jr. bridesmaid would be fine in a coordinating floral print.

Welcome to Pash!

Here is a link to David's Bridal -- this page shows some Jr BM dresses in Peri, if you go back there are more regular BM dresses in that color and varying styles. Hope this helps!

Periwinkle Dresses

ETA: Here is a link to Alfred Angelo's BM dresses...they haven't got a color called Periwinkle, but there are colors that are close to what I think periwinkle is.

Or it could be kind of neat to have the different shades as well...we went to a wedding last summer and the bride let her attendants pick pink formal dresses...they were all different styles and shades..the pictures were cool.

I'm still scared these shades of periwinkle are going to be different. I hope there not but I think it would be fine to do a print dress with the color in it for the jr. BM. Also I'm sure NY and wi has a Davids bridal u could go to one of the stores and pick what shade you want and have the girls go and pick the style they want.

When I was looking for bridesmaids dresses, I couldn't really find what I wanted for cheap. Neither I nor the bridesmaids have much money to put into them. FMIL found 3 exact dresses on ebay for cheap the color was listed as Periwinkle. I than looked up different dresses under periwinkle and found some bluish and some purplish which is what I wanted. We emailed the guy and he admitted they were more of a purple than a periwinkle blue. We got all 3 for $38 each. They are chiffon and included shawls so that was great. When I opened the box.... downright-not-even-close-to-purple blue. I wouldn't even call them periwinkle. More like light or sky blue.

Lesson: Absolutely positively have a color sample and give everyone a sample. That way they don't show up in different colors even with the tags saying periwinkle. As for the jr, a design with flowers on it should be okay as long as the colors match.

You know it is true about the interpretation of the colour because I would have said that the colour of Solar's BM dress is periwinkle! If I was asked I'd say the FG dress (hanging up behind) is a lavender & the BM's is periwinkle!

I guess the lesson in don't go with what the tag says!

On that note, the fabric I bought for my FGs says sage but the ties at the kilt shop said sage too and they were what I would call a Forrest or hunter green

Oh, I think we're mostly all new to this! Second time brides have some big advantages

I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't had this site to rely on! I've found out *so* many things that I just didn't know about... I remember when we first set the date, I had no idea at all of where to begin planning a wedding!
