Help for 2nd time bride
Hi everyone. My "fiance" and I just got engaged TODAY! We are very excited - but aren't really sure how to go about this. I was married before and have 2 children (boys..9 & 5). We'd like a nice, classy reception but aren't sure where to do it or how to go about looking around for places to do it. Something backyard-ish...not too expensive at all since we'll be paying for it...and something that doesn't take too long to plan. It will likely be in the Fall. We're also sure we'd like to keep the wedding party small!! Any ideas???
Thanks for your help brides!!
Shannon

Alot of botanical gardens are free or very low cost.
Parks also allow for an more inexpensive wedding.
If it is going to be under apx 30 people you can often find a resturant that can accomodate you.
Welcome to Pash and good luck!!!!

Hi Shannon & Welcome. Congrats too of course!
One of our members, MarryingtheGoodHusband (MTGH) is also a second time bride having an informal reception. I'll bet there is a lot she could share with you on how she is handling things.
Good luck!

 Welcome to Pash!
Recently we had Sharon Naylor here as a "guest." I asked her a similar question about a small second wedding. Here is what she said.

We're still not married.... and have no idea what we're going to do when we do get married. Right now we're focusing on having this baby.... hopefully sometime SOON!
His latest "wish" is to fly to Myrtle Beach (just the 2 of us) for a weekend and get married. I looked into it, and we can do it for around $2000.... a bit more than I'd like to spend. Plus, I don't want to leave my baby for a weekend!

Oh, Margie, I think Natalie and JJ would be heartbroken to miss out on the wedding as much as you would miss your little love for the weekend! Natalie being able to see pics of how she was included later on will be so special for her!
Shannon, welcome to Pash! If you're keeping it really small, you might want to look into one of the nicer resturaunts in your area. They'll often do a package price for a meal there for a lot less than typical wedding fare, and if you don't care about a wedding cake they'll probably even have some kind of dessert for everyone.

Did you find it?
If not, you can get to the thread from the main forum page. Go down to General Chats and there is a section called "Starting a Family." It's in there.
Otherwise you can push "New Posts" located towards the top of the page in the dark bar at the top. It is 6th from the left. This will bring you to all of the new posts for the whole forum.
Did that make sense?

She's still in labor, as far as we know so far. The first thread is called "Everyone: Margie!!!" and the second thread is called "EVERYONE: Margie Post Deaux"
They should both be fairly close to the top, if not the vary top, if you go straight to the "Starting a Family" section. If you push New Posts, you might have to go down a little ways.

Have you subscribed to the lounge threads? If not, go to user cp and click on list subscriptions. From there you should be able to figure out what to do.. I can't remember past that point!
