Default Keeping track

Ok, thought I'd start a new thread since the other one was so long. Mostly, I want to keep in one spot the major things I've done/need to do.

To date-
Dress is in! Will be trying it on Monday.
Invitations for ceremony are ordered
Invitations for reception are bought (need to be printed)
Band for reception is 98% booked
Going today to fit two males of the BP for tuxes

Need to do-
order BM dresses
make final selections on flowers and make bouqets
find shoes, slip, tiara for me
pay in full ceremony and reception venues
find student photographer/videographer?

I know I have more, but I need to go get ready to go tux shopping.

I didn't see this the first time around... But you seem to be getting there. At least you know what needs to be done, that really is the first step. I know it gets a bit much, but if you didn't have it on the list it wouldn't get done!

BTW: How do you book a band 98%?

You have 11 weeks to go... but you've not booked your honeymoon???

Maybe it's just me but I really wanted that honeymoon

So where do you fancy? Do you get to go right after the wedding? Do you think your FH will surprise you with it, or are you picking it together? Have you at least narrowed down the options?

Getting FH to give me a definite answer on where he wants to go was/is impossible. So I've given him some options, he said they were all fine. Lol, so basically, I'm planning it.
We both have the week after the wedding off, so yes we get to go right after. Again, budget is our biggest limitation. I'm checking into cottages on the beach in North and South Carolina, and maybe....just maybe, the Bahamas. But activities are kind of hard to plan...I like to be outdoors (e.g. hiking, horseback rididing) where as FH likes to be outside, but not necissarily doing anything. So we may just end up being beach bums, lol.

print reception invites
address all invitations
make centerpieces
download songs for band breaks
find second photographer/videographer
order favors
order anything else out of catalogs that I want

Ok, so not as much off the list as I thought. But getting there. Bonus that the hairdresser is a beauty college and will have 5 girls working on all of us at the same time. So that makes me happy.

*find a caterer - or at least food
*find someone to do cake
decide if I'm going to make those ribbon thingys and buy supplies
make corsages and toss boquet
*print reception invites

And adding to the list-

but material to make my veil (which I decided on floor length )
find rhinestones in bulk

I know you didn't ask... but if you don't want to make your veil, this seller has great deals.

Mine just arrived yesterday. It was under $25 with shipping for an elbow length with rhinestones. I'm not sold on a veil... but my Mom really wants to see me in one. I didn't and am not going to tell her I bought it. I am thinking I might wear it as a surprise for her. Our family is always big on surprises others with things that would and do mean something to them!!!

sellers name: veilsbylana

I think that after planning a wedding, being a beach bum sounds like a great idea!!!

What kind of food is "in progress"?

Thanks for the link breezy! I'll check it out, although I have a butt load of tulle here already, so I would just have to cut it and stick it on a comb if need be. Lol. I did decide that I want a floor length one, so that decision got made!
And food in progress is us deciding what foods we are going to fix. We're going to make the food ourselves and have things like salad, roasted potatoes, finger sandwhiches, etc. A bunch of my female family members are going to help, so it should be ok.

I could swear that veil store is where PlanetClaire got her veil too! They have some great prices.

(I'm not going to look though... I've already had 3 veils & now a cloak )

Yeah, I'm wearing the cloak when I come into the church. I'll be wearing it with the hood up coming down the isle, then I'll put it back when I reach Moreno, just like you would with a veil...

Then I'll wear it for the photographs after the wedding, though I'll probably have some of the portrait shots (on the morning of the wedding) taken with my veil on.

Thne when we get back to the hotel I'll (probably) change out of the cloak & back into the veil.

At this point neither the guests nor Moreno will have seen me in the veil. So I'll wear it for the meal & then I'll decide if I want to keep it on... I might leave it on till after the first break of the band... or after the first dance

But I know for sure that I'm going to wear the cloak for the ceremony. I'm quite excited about walking up the isle in it

Default Did someone hit the panic button?

Oh, wait, that would be ME hitting the button. Right-o. Announcer says, "And with one month before her wedding, this bride lost all her marbles and walked into the wall. She realized everything that wasn't done and forgot to open her eyes to walk." Or something like that. Or maybe it'll be stairs....they tend to get me from time to time.

I know, I know, I need to make sure I take "me" time and whatnot. But every weekend this month is booked. I just realized that today. I have two dinners to go to the next two Saturdays, the next Saturday will be my hair trial/photo shoot, the shower's the following Sunday, and if I'm able I'll be in Wisconsin for the last weekend.

K, running off screaming now........AAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKK!!!!!

Ok, deep breath taken....
I did call and arrange my hair trial today, although I still have to pay full price which is crap, but nothing I can do about that.
I tried to call the cake lady back, which I called her yesterday and left a voicemail, today I didn't get an answer either. I may try her again here in a bit, otherwise I guess I'll bite the bullet and pay $200 for one.

I think another beef of mine is that my sister (MOH) doesn't seem to want to do any of the planning for the bachlorette party, so I'm doing that all myself practically too. Is it to late to elope?

It crossed my mine to elope too!

I think I might have left it a bit too late now though

$200 doesn't seem too bad for a cake, they'd charge you more than that over here...And you all get such a nice choice of fillings

Oops. Forgot to put on here that I mailed them yesterday. One of my BMs told me that she got hers today, and would probably put the reply in the mail tomorrow. So I know I'll get one back, lol.
And, no, compared to what most places charge, $200 isn't bad. I'm just on a budget and trying to keep costs down as much as possible, and the other lady was a little cheaper.

Speaking of which, I have white boxes that I'm going to put Hershey kisses in for the tables, any idea what I can replace the flower with?

I would probably print out a little tag with your names & the date on it, and thread the ribbon through to tie in a bow...

ETA: are they for your favours? Are they small enough to fit in the palm of your hand? Just trying to see if anything else springs to mind...

They would be for favors. Matter of fact, that's what my friend had, and like 90% of the boxes got left...everyone ate the candy and left the boxes. They're pretty good size boxes too. I need to get them from her and see what the tops look like after ripping the flowers off.

I found this, and really like it.

And I just talked to my friend, she doesn't have as many as I thought she did, but she thinks her mom has more and told me to take them. So that's cool. Oh, and the cake lady finally called me back and I'm taking her a picture tomorrow, so hopefully that'll be settled then.
