I am so MADDDDDD..............
I have to have an emergency oral surgery tomorrow........ they want to remove my wisdom before I get pregnant (Plus a tooth my Dentist says is not worth repairing--my old dentist never fixed it right it now has an abcess (sp))...... anyway, Bob was going to try to go in late tomorrow or get the day off so he could be with me when I go under and they told him if he did he would have to stay at work until they closed (we are talking even as late as 2 or 3 am........ He would only be two hours late.......) ANYWAY, WhatTheFudge!!!!! that stinking yahoo at his job (we are thankful for his job), takes time off all the time for games, girlfriends and drinking........ or maybe it's drinking, games and girlfriends? Anyway I so so stinkin' upset!

Sorry to hear that. Hope it goes well. If it is any consolation, I had 5 wisdom teeth (I am some kind of mutant freak, LOL) and I had them all removed at once and I had no problems afterwards. I left for college the next day.

If you are getting put under for it then please get someone else to take you. I took Andrew about four years ago and when he came out of it he got really sick. I guess they gave him a glass of water afterwards and he puked all over the McDonalds parking lot (I being nice thought he might want a milkshake). On the other hand I got mine done with local anesthetic and they had to drill out parts of my jaw and stuff it was neat because I felt no pain, but I could feel pressure where they were doing it. It was done in like an hour and then I went home, got dressed and went to the movies with my girlfriends. I remember eating a lot of that nasty ravioli in the can. Your hubbys boss sounds like a douche. Can't he call in sick? Hope your surgery goes quickly and easily

I am so sorry that Bob can't be there for your tooth extraction. His boss sucks!

If you're being put to sleep (not just local anesthesia), you really should have someone else drive you. I was put to sleep when I had a wisdom tooth removed. When I woke up, I was so groggy and out of it, there's no way I could have driven a car. In fact, my oral surgeon said that he would not have let me drive; they told me that up-front.

I agree. You could ask your oral surgeon about just giving you some Novacaine and gas instead. I had that done when I had all four of mine removed and was able to drive myself home...I just needed to wait a little while to get a clear head.
Sorry, hun! Hope you feel better from it soon!

I don't understand WHY he's not entitled to take the day off tho... does he work for a super-small business? Bob should have sick days he can take off, it doesn't matter if it's him or you that's sick.
I'm sorry you're having this trouble, Kim. It sucks. Big hug!

I had all 4 wisodm teeth removed at once, along with an additional abcessed molar. So, I know how you're feeling.
I agree that if you're being put under, you definitely need someone to drive you.
My second word of advice is: They'll tell it that it's going to hurt for a few days to a couple of weeks. But, if the pain ever gets the slightest bit worse, instead of steadily reducing, go back and have them check you. I ended up with 2 dry sockets to deal with for a couple of weeks after the couple of weeks official healing, because I waited too long to call the doc about the pain. It wasn't fun.
I don't want to worry you, because the majority of people do not have this problem. I just wanted to make you aware on the off chance that you do.

I am home now and they called me late yesterday and asked me to come in an hour earlier (appt was at 10 and I got home at 1130 I think). It went well. My mom got my aunt to come with her and I, in case I couldn't drive she could have. I was able to go local even though no one was sure I really could, least of all me! The bad tooth that had the abscess hurt like the dickens even with several shots and I almost said "PUT ME OUT!" but I cowgirled up and closed my eyes and just started thinking other things......... (it's the one really hurting no too) it was all over in less than an hour but even just having a local I had some dizziness and have not been able to get warm. I have already taken something for pain, and it is hurting............... I thought my head was gonna be pulled out of joint with the wisdom tooth..... NOW I HAVE NO MORE WISDOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, they told me not to work tomorrow, just to make sure, though I think I could........
BTW, I don't care for Bob's boss either and Rose, he works for a large company. I don't want to give too much info because you never know, but the guy is a regular JERK! I wish he could get another job!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish he would have confidence in himself enough to finish his degree.......... He is so smart. Bob could have pushed having the day off, but was it worth him maybe being laid off? No. If I wouldn't have been able to do anything else I would have taken a cab.
