Very nice! Would you use real ribbon or fondant for the color around the bottom edge of each layer?

That is gorgeous! I really like the texture in the frosting. It adds a touch while still being classic and simple.

I'm hungry for cake now.

yup, I like it too... it's got an elegant simplicity to it that appeals to me but the texture makes it fun too.

I love the cake! It is very simple and I even like the ribbon, and that is perfect if you are changing your color to red, since I really like how that cake looks!

I agree with the others, that's so pretty and elegant. Matter of fact...it's right up the alley I'm wanting for mine. Lol. So if you don't mind, I may steal your idea. If that's not ok, just tell me. Don't want to be an idea theif, but that's very pretty. Are you using buttercream or fondant for all of it?

Simple elegance. Perfectly beautiful.

I should write for the J. Peterman catalog.

SuzyBride did u use butter cream or fondant? If you don't mind where did u find your letter for the top and how much did u pay. I'm finding it to be over $100 but I might be looking at the wrong thing.

Suzy...it is hard to tell from the picture. Is your cake square shaped or heart-shaped? Either way, it is beautiful!

I've seen Chrismtmas Ornament letters in stores. Not sure if you have a JoAnn Fabrics in your area, but that's where I saw some really pretty ones (they had rhinestones imbedded in them) but they were good sized. I've also seen them at other stores too (as Christmas ornaments) but can't remember where. Target maybe? Oh, and they're way less than $100

Isn't that a Seinfeld reference? Or am I losing my mind? Isn't that the catalog that Elaine worked for?
