who can he dance with?
DJ's mom died Christmas Eve 2000, so obviously he has no one to dance with for the parent dance. I will be dancing with my father obviously, unless something horrifically terrible happens, in which case my brother will step in.
Who would DJ dance with? He and my mother don't get a long sometimes, so I don't think she's an option. He does have a sister, but I don't know how he feels about dancing with her. I just think it would look strange for them to dance together because of their, er, different sizes and heights.
He and I both want him to participate in that portion of the dancing, as I don't want to be the centre of attention AGAIN immediately after having our first dance. There's only so much spotlight I can take in such a short period of time.
Suggestions?

Does he have a grandmother or aunt he was close with? Or is there a close family friend/ friends mother etc. who was like a second mother to him?

ooh friends mother! I like that idea. He has a lady he calls "Mom (lastname)" so that would work swimmingly. Thanks!

That's a good idea.
I don't have a dad so I danced with my oldest brother. (He and I are the closest anyway.) If I didn't dance with him for fear of hurting my other brother, I would have danced with my FIL.
I didn't want to cheat Mike or his Mom out of that dance...

i like the friends mom idea also... and you can also break up the "special dances" by doing the father/daughter dance like an hour later... give everyone a chance to boogie and then you can dance while they watch before boogy-ing some more!
