Just ideas....

If you're in the UK, the site is here, but I have a feeling you can buy the parts of this you like anywhere.

Welcome!
I love the pics Crush posted, so I'm more of a subtle/simple person. I would do the white with the purple accents.

TheaterDiva1 talk about purple tablecloth made me think. You could take your 3 different colors make you main table cloth one color then put another shade of purple as a over lay then have your other shade a smaller over lay.
With mine I am having white table cloths to the floor. Then taken a black sheer and placing it over it. It is only coming half way down. Then I have a silver swirl over lay on top of the table.

you can purchase tulle in rolls about 6-8in wide. It is perfect for bows on the back of chairs. Runs about $5-6 a roll for 25ft (I think)
We are using it with small fake floweres in the center of bow on the back of our chairs.

I like that idea! Or, for one table, take one of those three purples (shade A), then napkins in shade B, and maybe a centerpiece in shade C. Then, on the next table, do the tablecloth in shade B, napkins in shade C and centerpiece in shade A, and keep retating as such for each table.
On the second thought, now I'm picturing mini lilac bushes for centerpieces - maybe gather up some lilacs in that fashion and add some dark green leaves for contrast?

Wouldnt that get pretty expensive decorating 130 chairs though?
I do love the look of tulle though.
I have found a few examples anyone else?

Is this a picture of what u are thinking about?
If this is what u are talking about you would need 195 yards of tulle. That gives you 1 1/2 yards per chair. Here is a web site of some purple tulle
http://cgi.ebay.com/9-x-300-FOOT-PUR...QQcmdZViewItem
I personal have never had no trouble with this person but I also have no ties with him. You would need to buy two auctions that would come to $27 plus shipping $11.93= $38.53 I don't think that is to bad for 130 chairs. You will have some extra but I'm sure you can find something to do with it. You can also buy one of the dark purple and one of the lavender and do half in one color and the other in another. Let me know if I can help out!

You could also check into renting the chair covers from a party rental place that rents linens It doesn't sound like you're hung up on the chairs either way. Depending on the style of chair, maybe you could tie some long purple ribbons, in varying colors, to them.

balloons are nice around the room and whatnot, but I'd scream if I had even 1 tied to my chair in any fashion, bobbing around everytime I got up or sat down.
Example:
back to chairs-

That's nice, but use wide ribbon instead of tulle.

minus the cover, just the garland
Depending on how the chairs look - decor isn't even necessary:
Colored lights:
