Ediquette question too!
Hey all-
Since you've been helpful with everything else, i thought i would throw this question to you all.
Being that at the time of the wedding, we will be living in Northern KY but the wedding is in San Diego, would it be wrong to make a request that all gifts be sent there rather than brought to the wedding? Our invitations arent really formal (its the cd slideshow to jog your memory with everyone RSVP-ing on the knot) so we didnt know if we could mention that. It's going to be a nightmare to get gifts on the airplane back to cincy. We figure quite a few guests will shop online at the registery and that has our address as the place to ship to but it gives me chills to think that the day after the wedding we have to figure out how to get things home.
thanks in advance!

I don't know how that works from an ediquette stand-point. But, I personally don't see anything wrong with it. I figure most of your guests will ship them anyway out of courtesy. I mean, they know where you live.
Though, you might want to wait for a more "official" answer from one of the planners or Emily Post fans that also frequent this site.

Can you just put it on your web-site that you prefer gifts to be sent to KY. that way it's not directly on your invite....Otherwise can't you just mail them to KY yourself from San Diego so that you don't have to take them on the plane at all...

We could mail them ourselves but while each person could probably mail theirs for 5 dollars to ship 20 somthing gifts ourselves might be more expensive than our wedding! hehe

That's a good point about your web site. If they're RSVP'ing there anyway, I'd put it on the page they'd see when they go to RSVP.

Put it on the RSVP page.
Actually, if people want to go by traditional etiquette, the gifts are NOT supposed to be brought to the wedding. The gifts are supposed to be sent to the bride's home before the wedding.

I would put it on the RSVP! I would hate to have to figure it all out the next day. If you do have gifts show up at the wedding then I would mail them back.
