Default We registered at Target last night

We actually made it to Target last night. We went to a Super Target that is fairly new and it's HUGE! It's the biggest Target I've ever seen.

We started at the kiosks. It was funny because FH was at one starting ours and I was at another printing a friend's because she's getting married soon and we still don't have a gift. A Target girl came over while he was mid-process and started touching the screen, thinking he was stuck or something. He was just trying to come up with the perfect password though. It's pretty original after all of that thinking, let me tell you

It was fun to get the gun and go around scanning things. A few of the items had more than one bar code and it would get angry if I picked the wrong one. The quantities part, she told us to just push the number after we scanned but that didn't so much work. That's ok though, we figured we could go online afterwards and fix that.

It was fun but we didn't end up with a whole lot on there yet. It’s still kind of weak sauce. We're going to Bed, Bath, and Beyond tomorrow so hopefully we can see what we would like there and then add to our Target list.

We had some snafus this morning with getting our list online but after the nice lady on the phone helped me, we’re all set. It’s actually starting to feel really real!

Cool, Annie! What did you register for, so far?

YAY! Congrats on getting another thing "in process".

DH and I had fun registering, too. He kept putting it off at first. But, after I got him out once and he realized he got to play with the little scanning gun, he was all up for it!

That's cool....it's kind of hard picking things for your registry, isn't it?

Right now we have some random stuff on there. He had fun scanning legos and magnet toys and then I told him we should maybe pick actual items we might need. He didn't want to do anything of the kitchen or linen type items until we see what is at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. That's ok but then I mentioned that we might need to put a few more things on there and he said he just wanted money so we didn't need that many gift ideas. Today when he was looking at the list online, he decided it was actually a little weak and we might want to add things. I just laughed because I came up with that yesterday but it didn't register until he looked at it on his own. At least he came up with it.

I Target. We had a lot of fun scanning to, but at times it was hard to think of things that we actually needed!

Instead of going to the store without any ideas of what to register for, make a list of items you need/want. Take the list to the store with you, and it will help keep you focused when you're using the scanner. Check things off as you've scanned them into your registry.

Some of the stores that let you register online have the lists seperated into depertment. When I was doing our list the other week I went round my house in my head as I went round their choices...

I'm in the kitchen... What is worn out? What is crap? What don't I have that I'd like to have? Does anything need to be replaced? What colour crockery would the food look best against? Do we have enough matching plates to have people over for dinner? Do we have enough cutlery & glasses & napkins for that too???

Can you tell it took me a while?

I had such a hard time with our registry. I felt guilty almost! It was really odd. There were so many things we wanted or needed but I kept thinking that if we want it bad enough we can buy it ourselves, lol.

It didn't last long though, as soon as Mike realized the purpose, etc. he was all over it.

Congratulations! Do keep an eye on your registry because Target has a habit of discontinuing items without notice. You may have to replace some of the things that you chose before the wedding occurs.

Another thing to mark off.
Kenny went crazy when we registered at a store a few weeks ago. I ended up going back and taken things off. He had scanned some lamps that was just ugly and lord knows we don't need any lamps. I have 3 in my bed room and 5 in my liven room and den. My sister works at a furniture market with over 1000 show rooms so I got a lot of nice lamps for $10 and $15. The price tags on them was over 100 on most of them.

I didn't want to look at my registry before the wedding because I didn't want to know what people had already bought. I had my sister check my registry on-line once a week so I would know if I needed to replace any discontinued items.
