red shoes?
As everyone might have gathered... im a non traditionalist... our colors are red, black, and touches of silver. the red is JUST in splashes...
so what about this... my dress is long and flowy... i think it would be kinda cute to wear little red strappy heels with it... they would only be like 1 inch because michael is short anyway but i think the occassional sighting of the red would be really neat.
any thoughts?

Very pretty I've seen it done, just make sure your dress is not hemmed too high, or they'll be more appearant then I'm sure your thinking.

I think it would be ok as long as they don't show all the time.

I think it would be ok as long as they don't show all the time. It would give a great splash to the pictures of the garter being taken off and the first dance.

I think the idea rocks. I love throwing a pair of funky shoes on with something normal looking, and I'd probably do it at my wedding too...if I wasn't going to be barefoot I say go for it.

Go for it! My dress is almost a pure white but my shoes are black. My wedding gown is floor length so they don't really show but I made a reception dress to change into that only goes down to my calf so I can show them off after the ceremony.

I was thinking blue shoes, too. In fact I was just looking up some on the internet the last few days. Ever since that Celebrity Weddings show--I can't even remember who it was (she was marrying someone famous)--but she had these really cute blue shoes and I thought it was adorable. Ok, back to MB's question--yes, it would look really cute in "splashes of red." In my case, though, my dress is flowy in the back but open in the front, so my shoes would definitely show. I was thinking some sort of strappy sandals with a low, wide heel (so I don't sink in the sand). But then I was thinking it might not look right--and was even trying on my dress with a blue sash to see if that looked ok. Tropical wedding might be ok to throw in some splashes of light, tropical blue. But maybe that looks silly. Don't mean to hijack your thread, MB! Was thinking of posting about it the other day, so while we're on the topic...

I wore sneakers (white) under my dress. The only time they were visible was when I was coming down the aisle. So, make sure you try them on with your dress so you can tell when they will be seen and when they won't...

I think the red shoes will be cute. I'll bet no one notices them, either!

I think it would be a great idea! But I'm partial...I wore black and silver wedges to my wedding! It looked really good and I got a ton of compliments on my shoes.

I love that idea. You should be able to wear whatever shoes you want.
