Default changing minds?

not about fh, tho, but did anyone else out there come up w/ *THE* wedding theme/plan/idea of their dreams, and go w/ it for a while, and then change your mind???? am i just stressed b/cs things are getting so close, or am i a complete freak of wedding-planning-nature???? i just literally changed almost every detail of the wedding that many of you may have been imagining for me based on former posts.....
old theme (which, to be fair, i stumbled on more as a way of including fh than being my so-called dream wedding) was sort of southwestern. colors in the bright redish family, and southwestern food, etc. now, w/ just about 50 days to go, i have changed my mind and decided i don't like that anymore. i'd already cancelled doing southwestern food b/cs by the time i got the quote of how much extra they were charging is for doing something other than *their* menu, i had to go w/ one of theirs b/cs it was too expensive. but that was a while ago, and i didn't think it would matter much. and maybe that's why everything else fell apart, b/cs i figured it wouldn't really feel like a theme if it didn't carry over, but then i realized i didn't even want a theme, like that was the detail that was bugging me. so... i began thinking about everything, and decided to scrap it. i am so insane. the girls still have chocolate dresses (which i still love, not that i could change it anyway!!), and they are still going to carry spanish-style fans, b/cs i like being different, and the fans are way cheaper than flowers that are going to die, AND they are my gift to each girl... but the food is just going to be <sigh> normal, you know, spinach stuffed mushrooms, shrimo skewers, chicken skewers, cheese/fruit/veggie platter, etc. and while i've booked my florist, we hadn't nailed down an exact floral theme, so that's ok, but now i'm questioning the red+other bright colors, b/cs everything else seems so understated. anyway... just wondering if i'm the only freak, b/cs this feels soooo freakin last minute!!!!!

Honey, whatever you want is OK!

If you've gone off the bright colours don't have them, like you said nothing is set in stone yet, you haven't spent a fortune on irreversable details... The dresses will work equally well if you change your mind & your dress is classic, beautiful & will also work with whatever you go on.
You didn't go over the top buying hacienda (sp??) decorations, R's tux is neutral... Your flowers aren't booked... what else?!?

And by the way your food isn't going to be 'normal' it's going to be beautiful!

I think you can still change things and it will be fine! Chocolate dresses don't lock you into any color scheme, and I think they are elegant and gorgeous no matter what. And I am having 'normal' food and I don't think people will necessarily remember the 'theme' of the food as much as they will remember if it was good or not. I think the red would still be gorgeous but you could also go with bronze or gold or tan or ivory....any of those would be beautiful if you are trying to get away from red. cru5h posted a color palette somewhere to show how opposite colors compliment each other...I forget what was across from brown. I'll see if I can find it.

ETA: Here is the link to the thread. http://www.pashweddings.com/weddingf...read.php?t=136
If that doesn't work, it is the "choosing your palette" topic in the Color Palettes forum. Scroll down the page and it is pretty easy to find.

I totally changed my idea, I wanted a tropical beachy theme with blues and sand, the whole nine yards. However, I could not find a bm dress color that I liked and finally decided to go with chocolate. Although I still have 6.5 months until my wedding. If you don't like it, change it!! There are so many things that I could cut corners on, but I realized that it is the one day that is all about my FH and myself, and I want the things that I want. (And since I'm paying for it, it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks.) Just make sure that all of your changes aren't going to stress you out. Since your dresses are chocolate too, I am using pink and white as accent colors. Your food sounds great, nothing "normal" about it. If you want normal, we're having roast beef and mashed potatoes. In Iowa, that's about as plain/normal as you get. But, that's what we like. Your wedding is going to be beautiful and your going to be glad that you changed things to the way you want. It would suck to look back on it and regret some choices. Good Luck!

I feel the same way. FH and I both agreed that if we could start all over...our wedding would be NOTHING like it is now. If you have the time to make the changes, I say go for it! But like us...we are so close we are just going to stick it out and go with the plan. Either way..we are happy...we will be married soon!
