Default trying on dresses

Just some rambling thoughts for today

I am going "down the hill" to my parents this week. I am working myself up to trying on dresses.
There are soooo many pretty dresses, but I am a big girl and just dread the whole thing.
The 1st dress (in pics) I fell in love with, I still love... but am worried it won't look good.
My Mom doesn't really care for it... she doesn't like the whole uneven hem thing But It's my wedding and I am staying strong that it is "about us"

I also *think* I want a renaissancey flower halo (with really long ribbons that will flutter in the wind) instead of a veil. My mom is crushed. She has this vision of the whole veil down and being lifted... I have to giggle... cuz alot of people don't even put the veil down anymore.

anyway this is the dress I am eying with the underskirt

and without the underskirt

I have an email into a dress designer to see if they can/will make the same style dress (without the underskirt) for the girls. Navy blue for the oldest and lt blue for the twins. I think ***IF*** I like it, it would be cute for them to have the same style (if reasonable)

Very nice... i think my favorite part is that it is uneven... and the removable skirt is an awesome idea... i could totally see someone wearing this dress again for a special occassion (which was one of my requirements when shopping for my dress and my bridesmaid dresses)

I like the dress. I think it would be nice you have the girls in the same style in different colors. Will you be wearing the underskirt with yours?

That would be really cute to have the girls in the same dress but navy. I really like that dress.

Don't dread the trying on part. They make dresses for larger girls now that are beautiful. Have faith that it the people at the store know what they're talking about and let yourself have fun.

That's a great idea to put the girls in the same dress in blue and I love how the hem line is uneven. Don't fret about the trying on dresses, thats the fun part Just remember that 99.99% of dresses look better when you try them on than in the bag so don't be afraid to grab at least 1 in each style. You'd be surprised what looks good on you.

That is how I felt trying on dresses. I actually went to David's Bridal to try on different styles and cuts. They have a ton of dresses in different sizes. The one dress that I ordered was at another store and it would not fit me, so she layed it on me to tell me how it would look. I had fun trying on dresses but I am glad that part is over now.

As for your mom not caring for the dress, my father and his g/f don't care for mine either. I don't care. I love the dress, that is what I want, it is my wedding, and I paid for it! She might change her mind once she sees you in the dress. I think your dress is very pretty, and just like Michaelsbride said, you could wear it again without the underskirt and it would look great!

That is SO pretty! I love it! I hope it's everything you want, in person. That would be so cute to have the girls in matching dresses. Also hoping mom: .
