Wink Just a tip

Spell your guests' names correctly on the invites.

Just got my cousin's wedding invite in the mail last night. I noticed a few things, and can admit something I was semi-wrong about right here.

Using labels is bad sometimes.
1) they were white
2) they were too small to accomodate both my name and Richy's name
3) I thought I was getting wedding mass-mail and almost threw it out until I flipped it to see the sender's address.

Not only did they misspell MY name, the misspelled Richy's too. They'd called a few months ago to ask how to spell everyone's names. Clearly they lost their list.

Just thought I'd share. I know nobody's perfect, and I'm far from offended. It just made me look twice and notice everything else that was wrong with it. Yes, I'm a beyotch.

That is a lot of mistakes to make. Maybe they were too embarassed to admit they lost their list, and they thought they could remember how to spell names.

But one *glaring* thing--- you thought it was wedding mass junk mail and almost tossed it. Was that because of the bad label?

Yup - so whichever of you guys said that (about the labels) were actually right about it. The white mailing label resembled the tons of other crap I get in relation to my wedding (you know - DJ, photography samples and invitation samples), that I came very close to chucking the whole envelope in the garbage.

Awwww, glad to see you might've changed your mind. I'm not TOTALLY against the whole labels for wedding invitations, but it is nice to see how using them CAN BE detrimental.

And I totally agree that spelling names correctly is a must. We have a hard time sometimes with some of DH's cousins names. So, when invitations went out I think one of their names was spelled incorrectly b/c his mom gave it to us that way. I'm still not sure how to spell it, so when Christmas cards went out, I just put "The Smith Family" so as not to spell it wrong AGAIN. My whole life, people have spelled my last name wrong. And it's soooooo annoying, b/c they spell it like the bug (Beetle) or the band (Beatle), but not the correct way (screenname).
