Bridal Shower Games
At a bridal shower, a variety of games can be played to entertain the guests. The following is a list of fun bridal and wedding shower games submitted and tested by shower hosts and hostesses. These games have been enjoyed by shower guests around the world.
Nowadays, bridal showers are not limited to "females only." Today, many "wedding showers" are being thrown that includes both the bride and groom and their "couple friends" in what is termed as a "Jack and Jill" shower. For games at a "Jack and Jill" shower, click here.
We invite you to add more games to our list. You can do so by either pressing "Post Reply" (if you are a member of our forums) or by sending us an email at: contact@pashweddings.com. Thanks!
Please post only games in this thread, no comments. Thank you!

Toilet Paper Wedding Dress
This is one of the more popular games played at bridal showers. We divided the guests (including me and my bridesmaids) into teams of three. Each team was handed four rolls of white toilet paper (recycled, of course) and were given 20 minutes to design a wedding dress. Each team chooses a "bride" and then proceeds to design a dress and wrap the "bride" within the allotted time. Each team bride was then paraded in front of the guests (it was hilarious on how some of my friends' creative juices flowed!) and votes were taken to determine the prettiest bridal gown. A gift was then awarded to the chosen bride and her design team!

Toilet Paper and Stick
This game is risque and insinuating but great fun! The guests were divided up into teams with all but one member holding a toilet paper roll in between her legs. The last member places a broomstick or pole between her legs. The "pole" people stand side-by-side on one end of the room while each of their team members stand in a single file on the other side of the room in front of their respective "pole" person. The goal of the game is for each member to walk (more like waddling like a duck) to their team's "pole" with the toilet paper roll between her legs and place the toilet roll onto the pole (without using her hands!). The first team to place all four rolls onto its respective team's pole wins and is awarded a prize. This was one of the best games I have ever played at a bridal shower! I have never laughed so hard! We got some great pics!

Hot Potato
All the guests sat around in a circle. A box was handed to me and we were told to pass the box around until the music stopped. Whoever possessed the box when the music stopped, had to wear the contents of the box. I did not want to be the bearer of the box because I feared it was a shower cap! But, at the end I was the one who had possession when the music stopped (coincidence? I think not...) and it turned out to be a wonderful floral corsage. I wore it on my chest for the rest of the party.

The Word Game
This game coincided with me opening up my gifts. Little did I know that one of my bridesmaids was desperately writing my verbal reactions to my lingerie gifts. After I opened up all my gifts, my bridesmaid read all my verbal reactions and said that this is what I will be saying on my wedding night! It was hilarious! I said stuff like, "How do you use this?", "Oh my gosh!", "Oh, this is wonderful!", "How do you put this on?", etc. You get the picture...

Purse Scavenger Hunt
Divide the guests into teams of two or three. Provide each team a list of items to be found in their purses. Each item is assigned a certain number of points. The most likely found item such as lipstick is assigned 20 points. Whereas an item such as a rock is assigned 75 points. Can you believe at my bridal shower that one of my co-workers actually had a rock in her purse? It was her lucky rock and needless to say, her team won!

"Guess What's in the Bag!"
Submitted by: DM F. of Fairbanks, Alaska in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
Put samples of white powders in baggies. Number the baggies and hand out sheets of paper with the same numbers. The white powders can be sugar, flour, baking soda, etc. Without smelling or tasting guests must figure out what kind of powder is in which bags. These bags are passed around during the shower. After everyone has had a chance at every bag, the correct answers are added up and the person with the most correct answers wins a gift.

"Kiss ____'s Ass"
Submitted by: LilSistah of San Francisco, California in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
A game that we played at my sister's bridal shower was entitled "Kiss ___'s Ass". On the wall we had a blown up , xeroxed picture of my sister's face and below was a sketched in picture of the rest of her body. On her rear end, there was a little red heart. Everyone took a turn being blindfolded, wearing a special lipstick (in the shape of a male's body part). Whoever kissed closest to the little heart on her rear-end won. It was a lot of fun and kept all of us laughing!

"Don't Cross Your Legs"
Each woman is given a clothespin to clip to the end of her skirt/dress. The purpose of the game is to NOT get caught crossing your legs at any time throughout the bridal shower. If one of the other guests catch you crossing your legs then she can grab your clothespin. The guest who collects the most clothespins, wins the game. You will be surprised at how natural it is for women to cross their legs so this will be a fun game to play as the bridal shower progresses.

The Spice Game
Submitted by: A. J. of London, Ontario in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
Have ten bottles of herbs or spices with the labels covered. Have the guests guess the spices and herbs - they are allowed to smell the herbs or spices. The guest with the most correct answers may keep the spices or give them to the bride, preferably the latter.

The Bride Leaves the Room
Submitted by: A. J. of London, Ontario in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
Ask the bride to leave the room. The guests are asked to write down ten or fifteen things about the bride such as what color is her hair and what are the colors of her eyes. Also, what color of clothing is she wearing, what kind of jewelry is she wearing or any other accessories. The guest with the most correct answers wins a prize.

Door Prize
Submitted by: A. J. of London, Ontario in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
When the guests first arrive have them fill out a piece of paper with their wedding date or, if they are single, their birthday. The person with the date closest to the bride's wedding date wins the prize.

Box of Recipes
Submitted by: T. E. of Houston, Texas in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
When my sister got married a few years ago, my aunt gave her a wedding shower. When she mailed the invitations, she included a card for each guest to write their favorite recipe on. Then at the shower, my aunt put all the cards in a recipe box and gave it to my sister as a gift from everyone.

Newspaper Bridal Dress Game
Submitted by: Norma of Newberg, Oregon in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
We had the guests make a bridal dress from newspaper. The shower guests were divided into teams. Each team was given scissors, tape, and a stack of newspapers. They were to make just one part of the wedding gown: sleeve, bodice, train, skirt, veil, shoes, etc. If your shower is small, concentrate on the main parts of the dress. If it is a large shower, yOur Storys will be larger and you can make assignments accordingly. The bride then must wear the gown over her clothing and pose for a picture (include a Polaroid picture for her). We have played this game at two different showers. It amazes me how creative some people can be.

Bingo!
Submitted by: K. W. of Boston, Massachusetts in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
The best game we ever played was Bridal Shower Bingo. You make a blank grid to look like a bingo card. As the guests arrive, have them fill out the grid with gifts that they think the bride will receive. (As in the real game, Bingo, the free space is in the middle. You can write in the name of your own gift.) As the bride opens a gift, cross it off your bingo card. If you have five in a row, across or diagonally, it's Bingo! Give a prize to the first winner!

Household Cleaner Letter: Version 1
Submitted by: Beth of Boston, Massachusetts in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
At my cousin's shower we read a "letter" that we had composed especially for the occasion. It started out...
"Dear Bonnie,
Soon you will marry Rich, a SUAVE and CHARMIN' guy..."
Our letter offered valuable advice as well... "Give lots of HUGGIES and KISSES... to keep your HUNGRYJACK EVERYREADY!" Needless to say that the bridesmaid played Vanna White and held up the products that we mentioned in the letter. It was fun both to compose the letter as well as present it to her! Everyone got a big kick out of it...
Dear "bride's name",
You are entering a new ERA. There will
come a THYME in your marriage when you
find "Groom's name" is not
always MR.CLEAN, but don't send out the S.O.S.
because he might VANISH. "Groom's
name" will always bring you CHEER
and you will find him to be your white
DOVE. When you are together you will
find JOY, so remember your PLEDGE and
give him your ALL. To "bride's
name" and "Groom's name"
the Best of Luck & Good Fortune in
the years to come. And may "Groom's name"
always be your HONEY.

Household Cleaner Letter: Version 2
Submitted by: J. Y. of New York in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
I'd like to give this idea as a shower game. It's a letter utilizing mostly cleaning products and health products. This is to be presented by the bridal party to the bride in front of guests:
Dear "bride's name",
It is only fair that we let
(Bride's name) in on a little
SECRET. (Groom's name) may be
FANTASTIC but wait until (Bride's name)
finds out that he is not MR. CLEAN.
He'll expect her to be a DYNAMO in
the kitchen and he thinks all women
should MOP & GLOW. At night he'll
wake you up at DAWN to SNUGGLE up close.
We all AGREE that (Bride's name) and
(Groom's name) will have a very happy
LIFE together. Our wish for you is
that your home be filled with JOY and
you remain as happy as ever in the FUTURE.
Really kinda cute. What the bridal party members can do is have each attendant (that is if there is more than one) read a line and pass each product to the bride as she names the product.

Striptease
Submitted by: C. M. of Halifax, Nova Scotia in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
While I was reading these I remembered a clever striptease act. It was clever because the bride did not want to have a real stripper at her shower/stagette. So, some of the girls cut out a cardboard silhouette of a man and dressed him in clothes. During the shower each guest had to answer intimate questions about the bride and Groom. Each time an answer was correct a piece of clothing was taken off the "stripper". The funniest event was when the last piece of clothing was removed only a fig leaf was there. It took her 1 hour until the temptation finally got to her to look under the leaf. But underneath was only a message for the bride, "Not on your life".

What ya' cookin'?
Submitted by: T. Cooper in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
This isn't really a game, but it is funny. The hostess sets out a bunch of ingredients and baking materials on a table: flour, sugar, bowls, cake pan, etc. The bride is to then cook her own wedding cake without a recipe! Someone writes down what she puts in the cake, and then it is actually baked during the shower and taste tested.

Giveaway
Submitted by: K. B. of Boston, Massachusetts in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
This idea was used at my shower given by my sisters and I've seen it at many other showers since. Before the shower, they went out and bought several items. Lotions, small frames, small perfumes, note paper etc. While I was opening gifts, they set a timer. Each time the timer rang, whose ever gift I was opening won one of the small wrapped items. This was a good game for a shower attended by women of all ages.

Toilet Paper Veil
Submitted by: K. O. of Kokomo, Indiana in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
Similar to the wedding dress game, two of my closest friends threw me a shower and had the guests create a wedding veil. Each guest was given 3 sheets of ordinary white tissue paper and given 5 minutes to create a veil for me. After the 5 minutes were up, the guests had to model their veil and I was to choose my favorite. Needless to say, there were some quite outrageous veils and a whole lot of laughs! This was by far my favorite game of the day -- and I even wore it during the rehearsal!!

Memory
Submitted by: L. K. of Ames, Indianapolis in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
At my first shower, my aunt and cousin played a game for both my sister and I (we were also having a baby shower for her), but it is great for just a bridal shower. My cousin came out in a robe with a variety of things attached to the robe, i.e. napkin holders, place mats, hot pads, tongs... We had 1 1/2 minutes to look at what she was wearing, and then she left the room. We then all had to try to remember what she had on and write it down. Whoever had the most correct answers won a small prize, and all of the items she was wearing went to the bride as part of her gift.

Thank You Notes
Submitted by: J. M. of Puyallup, Washington in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
Here is a game or door prize that is kind of neat and is handy for the bride. Either you buy or have the bride buy the thank you notes prior to the shower and then take the envelopes out and after everyone has been introduced and before the action starts have all guests address the envelope to themselves and put them into a container, have the bride draw one and then that is the door prize person. It helps the bride when it is time to send the thank you notes!

Dress Up
Submitted by: Joleen of Kalispell, Montana in our old BlissWeddings.com website.
I had a shower for my best friend which was, also, attended by her mother. We went to a second hand store and bought some outrageous dresses, bras, shoes, hats, necklaces, purses, and a ring. We split up into teams, one for the bride and one for the mother-of-the-bride (it worked out well, we had an equal number of guests who were approximately the same age as the bride and mother-of-the-bride). The team dresses the bride and the mother up for the wedding. First team done wins. We were nervous about how this would turn out, but we had an absolute blast and got some GREAT pictures. It is still a joke today about how the mother-of-the-bride should have worn the hot pink dress for the actual wedding.
