Default How to choose tables

My sister found me servers at the college she goes to. They work in the kitchen there and said they will plate and serve the food to the tables. I was just going to do the Buffy but with them doing this I will get what I really wanted. Plus it will save the coast of having to rent chafer's and to pay people to server. So I'm just looking over the list of people I know that will be there and trying to figure out how to place every one. I wanted to know how did every one choose to do this? Who sets with who?

I didn't assign seats. I let people sit wherever they wanted. Instead, I had a table set up where the guests walked in. There were place cards with the HOH name on it, underneath were cards of whatever food they ordered. Say Uncle Jim and his family came.... they ordered 2 chicken and 3 beef. So there was a card saying Jim Smith and family. Under there were 2 chicken cards and 3 beef cards... each with their own color. When people sat down, they put the card in front of them. The wait staff knew by the cards what everyone was suppsed to eat and didn't have to inturrput conversation to ask anyone. AND... my guests got to sit with whoever they wanted.

Make sense?

Thats a good ideal! I like that I could get those votive holders in red for the steak frosted for the chicken and something else for the kids (don't want them to have candles) then put clear stickers on all them with there names on them.

Margie, I think that is a great way to do it.

And, LJ, your idea of using the favors in different colors to mark the places is also interesting. Keep us informed on your progress.

The only tables that you need to reserve are for the bridal party and for the parents, perhaps one table for your parents and one for his. everyone else can do as suggested and pick up their name and food choice at the door. If you don't offer multiple entrees, it is even simpler.
