Default Formal Introduction.....

Sorry I havent introduced myself better - but I am from NZ living in Enlgland. I have been in England for just under 5 years now, we spent our first 4 years living in London and are now living in a lovely little town in Surrey which is a short commute for me to the city. My husband manages a pub in our town and we have a little one-bed room place upstairs. You will notice that I called him my Husband well that is because we are already married. Its a bit of a long story but I'll give it a go - we got engaged when we both took a trip home to New Zealand in 2004, it was the most romantic proposal ever, and in our home country made it that much more special. Anyway so we got back to England and decided that we should just take the plunge and arranged a registry office wedding in two weeks - the wedding was wonderful it consisted of just our London friends and was very low-fuss and low-hassel, we got married on the 4th of December 2004. For our reception we just had a big party with our mates at our flat in London. Anyway so the wedding that we are now planning is our big 'proper' wedding, it will be the wedding we have always wanted and it will be the wedding that all the family will be coming to! Its going to be at my parents place who live out in the country in NZ and have a beautiful garden, so we are going to get married in the afternoon and have a great reception in the garden with a big marquee, beautiful lighting, live band etc..... its going to be just perfect. And the best part about the way we have done it is that I dont have to worry about my man turning up on the day as we are already married!

Hi Emily I was so surprised to see someone else on here form the uk, I think there's just the 3 of us now... (unless there are any lurkers here )

So are you thinking of white for your dress? Have you got much planned yet? What will your DH be wearing if you're going for something less formal?

For 555Ann555 - I'm not so sure - cause we are going to be outside I think it would be silly to wear a big over the top dress, something simple and comfortable cause it will be hot, so I dont want to be sweating my arse off! My man I think will wear a dinner suit but they wont have ties or anything, probably just a white shirt and I am sure they wont keep their jackets on for long as again it will be hot, they will have button-holes though! For my dress, I dont suit white white anyway so it will probably be ivory - although I am starting to think I might wear either pale powder blue or a really light yellow colour!?! I have heaps of time to decide, but I think my dress will definitely be mid-calf length. We are really wanting our day to be quite casual and relaxed so we need to show that with what we are wearing too!

Is it snowing where you are today? I had some light flurries on my way to work this morning - nothing serious though! Nice to have someone local on the board with me too!
