Default My burns are itchy!!!

*screaming* I can't make it stop!! OMG it itches. I tried lotion - did nothing, cocoa butter - small amount of relief. It's not like 2nd or 3rd degree burns, it's like...rug burn, but from the airbags in my car. What can I do?

Aloe? Benadryl/licodaine cream?

They sell some type of an OTC burn relief. My Mom (a nurse) is working, so I am hoping that someone will remember what it is called.
Does/Did the aloe work?

It's calmed down for now. Now the inside of my right nostril itches. I don't know why, and I don't suppose anyone's got a remedy for that?

Thanks for the tips!

It's right there at the opening, so I've been scratching away (and washing my hands, yes) and it's so itchy I could scratch until it bleeds. I'd rather not

my favorite *natural* burn pain/itch reliever is Aloe. You should make sure it's plain 100% aloe, some companies mix all sorts of colors and other stuff in. When aloe isn't enough, I reach for the Dermoplast. I've never had to use anything else. HTH!

The burning/itching inside your nose could be from the airbags. They aren't just air, but have some other stuff in the packing to kieep them from sticking together. You could be having a reaction from that.

Did you ever see a doctor? We strongly recommend that if airbags deploy, the person should be seen in the Emergency Room. The bags deploy and collapse so fast, you might not even realize it happened; but the fine gritty powder is an indication.

I think burning from airbags is common due to the chemicals in the airbags. When my friend had that happen I believe the ER gave her something.

Go out right now to your nearest pharmacy and get solarcaine first aid spray. It's for cuts, burns, windburn etc. I got it for a sunburn, but I fell down last summer and my pants rubbed the skin off my legs when I slid across the cement and it was so itchy and painfull and tight feeling and as soon as I sprayed that stuff on it was like magic. It's kind of pricy though. My friend "borrowed" it and I think she gave it to her disgusting husband so I don't want it back anymore.

I haven't heard anything. I hope she's ok. Her car wasn't even messed up (other than the bumper being a little loose and donning my car's paint), so I hope she had injuries no worse than what I had and that she's all healed up too. FL is a no-fault state, so I may never hear of her injuries unless she tries to sue
