applause Free Wedding Stuff

I didn't know where to post this so someone can move it if they need to.

My friend sent me the link to a place in Mass. that has free wedding stuff for brides that can't afford it. Everything is free!

If you have any left over wedding stuff you want to donate you can send it there. I'm going to send my old wedding dress (1st marriage). My BM flowers were silk so I may send them as well.

Anyhow, look how awesome this is for the brides in the area!

I think this would fall into the "I spy..." category. Since, you're not advertising for a purchase. A lot of brides have leftover items after the wedding that they don't really want to keep but would feel bad about throwing away. I think this is a really cool donation idea.

Wow! That is so cool! I think I might send 2 bridesmaid dresses from weddings I was in. I'm sure I have a bunch of other stuff at moms too! Thanks Jennifer!

Thumbs up

ooh, maybe I will donate my dress! I was going to sell it but none of the consignment shops around here do wedding gowns and NONE of my friends/family are getting married soon BUT I don't want to trow it away.

I think that is a fantastic idea!

The charity shops in my area sell wedding dresses occasionally but because the brides have hung onto them for so long no one ever wants to buy them! It's normally those 1980's frilly monstrosoties

But if there was somewhere like this that you knew was dedicated to weddings I bet they'd get a lot more donations. I know I'd donate whatever I had left...

I mentioned this idea to Steve a few days ago to get his opinion, and I had no idea this thread existed, or the actual shop in Mass.

I think this would be a great idea to start on the web. I mean, I know there is eBay, etc - but how great would it be if low-income brides everywhere could receive items they need (or want).

As you all know, I tend to get a little nutty or creative while laid up so I would love to hear what you think.

I think it is an excellent idea H. But aren't you supposed to be on bed rest?

It looks like a good idea but the brides would probably need to pay for shipping and what if they don't return the stuff?
