I'm new to this, just wanted to say hi! My FH and I are shooting for a May Wedding... but it might be sooner. I'm not sure how to add my month so if anyone knows let me know. i'm looking forward to talking to everyone. I love planning and talking about it!!! It's all i seem to think about even though its 2 years away. But it'll be here before you know it.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!! Glad i can speak to other future brides. So is Everyone here planning already?? What have you done so far? Im just curious my FH doesn't beleive in planning a year or so in advance. Im just the kinda person that plans everything out and wants things perfect. and of course i'm way too excited to wait! My ideas are piling up But I'm not sure where to hold my reception. I want a very comfortable intimate feel & for my guest to love it.

I got engaged in Dec 2004, began planning in Jan 2005, and married in Sep 2005. I think 9 mos was a very good time frame. It even gave me enough time to take a "break" when it got too stressful. However, I didn't DIY much. If I had I probably would have needed even more planning time than 9 mos.

Not quite. LOL! You'll find once you come to Pash you'll NEVER leave! Many members are currently planning weddings, but we also have a lot of members who are already long married, and some divorced, some single, etc.

I'm in a transitional stage I guess. lol I first joined in December 03, about 6 months before my first marriage. I'm now divorced and engaged again. We're waiting until we have our baby (due in a month) to get married... and we have to sort some "isses" out first, too. You'll learn to love me and my I'm quite the

Welcome to Pash Amy
I got engaged Feb. 2004 but we didn't set a date until a year later! We're getting married May 06, I guess I started getting stuck into the plans last Aug. So whats that??? 9months actually planning it...
BTW This friday will be 2years I've been engaged and 12 years since our first kiss
I don't think a year is too far in advance if you're going to do it in a popular season, and there are always little things you can do in advance (especially if you're using artificial flowers or making a lot of things for yourself)... You could get started on a provisional guest list, or start looking at colours you like, venues, caterers, photographers... Think about whether you want favours. Those are the kind of things that can be done well in advance.
And if you're up for it you could always go try on some dresses

I'm going to a few weddings this year which will help w/ some ideas. then by next year i will defently book a place or maybe have the reception at my FH's back yard he has about an acre or two and a huge deck.but i'm not sure. then when thats done i can focus on ALL the other details. Thanks again and tell me more. like what you plan on doing or what you have already done that turned out great. i would love to hear. oh.. and whats DIY???- sorry its all new to me

DIY = do it yourself! We have lots of very crafty women on here who can help with any projects! I got engaged Dec 23, 2004, started planning immediately, and got married July 23, 2005. Almost 7 months being married now!!
