candelabras I rented today
OK I rented my Candelabras today. I didn't take my camera with me but I found a picture of them but mine are in silver.
I got 12 of these to go up the aisle they will have fabric draped all up the aisle.

I got one of these to go in the middle of the church. Not to happy with it I really didn't want any thing but my mother thought I needed something.
It is also in silver!

Those are pretty. I am using the arched one for my wedding too. I am going to have our moms go up and light it together. One more thing to check off of your list.

LJ- those aisle ones...are they going to be lit? With fabric on them? Are you having them on either side of the aisle as you walk up? I'm just imagining you on Wild Weddings as flames erupt!
That's going to make for a stunning entrance regardless!! Very romantic.

No I can't pick them up till the 5th of May and have to have them back by the 8. My little sister goes to school up there so she will just take moms van to school that week so she can pick them up. If u don't go ahead and put a order in for them this early u won't get what u want. Plus with them the only ones around having silver I was luck they still had them.

Here is what I plan on doing. There will be no flowers that is where the candle will be. I will also have a runner down. Not sure if I will put petals on each side or not.

When I read you rented them today I misunderstood! It's getting really late over here and I'm getting a bit stupid
I love that church picture I take it the ushers will make sure no one is daft enough to try to walk down the centre isle and hop over your tulle?
Didn't we discuss this once before? I think I remember someone recommending you put a piece of tulle across the centre isle until you arrive so no one is even tempted to try to go that way.
I take it this isn't a Catholic church? That wouldn't work for me because no one would be able to get out to take communion...

Nope not a Catholic wedding. yea I am blocking off the center doors and there will be no way to get down the center unless u go through the center doors. Only thing I worry about are kids trying to swing on the fabric but I would hope no parents would let that happen.
Thanks deputysgurl u made my night!

That would look gorgeous! Ok, my mom has this "worst case scenario" thing going on, and I must admit, it's affected me enough that I do it, too! I'm thinking tulle and candles right where you're walking--in a big dress. And two of you across the span of the aisle. All keep thinking is what if you bump into the candle?! Ok, unrealistic, I'm sure. I just needed to warn --and then knock on wood!

Oh, Claire, I could see something like that happening on that show, too! That gave me a really funny mental image of a bride in one of those 80's wedding dresses with the giant puffy-topped sleeves batting at her train as it catches fire.
LJ, those look great! I love the idea of having the aisle lit with candles, very romantic and beautiful! The ambiance is going to be really nice.

I agree that it looks lovely. Very elegant and upscale!
But I have to ask how wide the side aisles are? At our church, the side aisles are pretty much single width--so the escorting of the guests by the ushers would be pretty much non-existent. They might be able to *lead* the guests, like an Indian guide tiptoeing single file through the forest. And it might take longer, since the usher will lead down a female guest and her husband, then the aisle must remain clear until the usher can make his way back.
Also--- the formal seating of the mothers!! Are they going to traipse down the side behind their escorts to be seated? It is much, much less formal and less sensitive/elegant/etc to *not* be able to take the arm of the beloved son/nephew/etc as the mom does her walk. Could you leave the front pew unblocked? I think the change of music and the formal seating of the mothers triggers the official "start" of the wedding. There is something much less emotionally graceful about them slinking down a side aisle.
Forgot to ask--- at our church, the committee does not allow lit candles to be placed in the carpeted areas of the church, which includes the main sanctuary. It makes a mess if any wax drips on the carpet, and it always does, which is why we have someone from the church involved in the wedding decoration part with the bride or with the designer/florist. Just make sure you check with the pastor first.

Very Nice
I'd also double check with the church to see if they'll allow lit candles.
My friend had something like that at her wedding and the priest said NO to lit candles, but a few minutes before the wedding started, i ran up the aisle and lit the candles right before they came out....by that time it was too late for anyone to say anything.

wynelle I am like u I have thought of this. As long as the candles have a glass cover we can use them. The side aisles are larger then most. What we are doing here is having the usher in front and showing them where there seat is. They are 13 and 11 and they have already said they was not holding any old ladies hands. lol So to help them out and get them to do it they will just lead the way. The pew that my mother will be seated will be fixed so that she can get in with out having any trouble. My little nephew age 6 and my client age 11 will be walking my mother down so my older nephew will also be up there to let her in her seat and to latch the fabric back. The only thing I have to watch is not letting kids have any seats on the inside of the aisle.
