I would like to introduce myself...
How rude of me, that I havent really introduced myself .
Again, my name is Irma and actually I have to edit my ticker, we moved up our wedding to July 08, 2006. because our ceremony site was super booked and only had that day open. (its only two weeks) well I'm 23 I'll be 24 by the time we are married. we have been living together for 5 years and have a daughter who will be 2 & 9mos tomorrow. Her name is Arianna. Why havent we married before? I dont know. But I guess its time we are both excited and super nervous. we announced our engagement on New Years. I know we are rushing it, but so far so good with our income tax $$ we booked the banquet, church, photographer/videographer, and with his income tax $$ he put half down on my dress. I actually just ordered it on friday. HUMM..I hope I'm not leaving anything behind. I'm not around here as often (once a day) you see my home computer is down (okay, fine my IP is temporarly disc. ) so I have to sneak in from work.
I look forward to talking to you guys some more. and as soon as I can I will post some pics. Oh, BTW my wedding is going to be a traditional Mexican wedding, it is pretty different but even I, was pretty lost as to what a traditional Mexican wedding consist of. but we are managing.

Don't sweat this. I was living with my husband for almost seven years before we got married, and we already had our two children. When we got married, one of them was four years old and the other was three years old.

Hi Irma!
You'll see a lot of us sneaking on the site during work hours too. Pretty soon you won't be able to stop yourself. We just kind of suck you in like that.

Well Ann, my FH is as lost as I am. But a lot of things are pretty similar, It's the ceremony (church) that's a little different. My mom & FMIL have helped me out. In our wedding we will have what are called "arras" they are 13 gold coins that he pours in my cupped hands and I pass back to him, they simbolize how we will share our wealth(whatever we might have, LOL) and how he puts his money in my trust for safe keeping. (something like that). We also have what is called the "lazo" which is a rosary thats then put around us which represents our joining.
Because we will also have sponsors to help us pay for the wedding. They are called "Madrinas" (feminine) and "Padrinos" (masculine) who pay for things like the rings, the church, and the lazo, etc.. they are the ones who walk in place of the bridesmaids in the ceremony. They are then honored by putting their name in the program or invitation (in a separate insert). Instead of having a ring-bearer the sponsors who paid for the rings (usually very close family) are the ones who walk in with them.
My 9 yr old sister and my FH's 8 year old sister will be the flower girls.
my daughter will be what they call "pajecito" come from the word page she will be holding the train of my dress as I walk down the aisle.
I will let you guys in on more as I remember.
I hope I explained it right.
-Irma

Probably the latin link to "pageboy/girl" (I'm guessing.) I like to pretend I'm a linguistics nerd.
