Default Tinted Moisturizer

I hate wearing foundation. I've yet to find one that doesn't feel cakey or just heavy after I put it on. However, I do love how it evens out my skin - and lately I've had a lot of breakouts that would be nice to cover. So I got to thinking - does a tinted moisturizer work the same? Except maybe it absorbs into the skin a bit better?

I just want something light and that doesn't feel like I'm wearing a mask. If this is what I'm looking for, what brands do you reccomend? And do any of them offer free samples?

Hi SparkleSweetie!
In my experience, tinted moisturizer is just like a moisturizer, but with a slight tint of color to it. It's great for those who have little to no facial blemishes and a pretty even complexion normally. It's definitely not full coverage, and it feels very light on the skin.

Some of the best tinted moisturizers I have tried are:

*Laura Mercier Tinted Moistuirzer
*Tarte Smooth Operator
*Merle Norman Cosmetics Tinted Moisturizer
*DuWop Revolution Face

I know that Laura Mercier, Tarte and DuWop are at the Sephora near me, and the sales associates will give you a little sample of these items if you ask them nicely.

Let us know how it goes!

Renee, I feel the same way about foundation -- I never wear it unless I'm having a breakout. When I do, I just mix a little of my regular moisturizer into it to help with that cakey feeling. I also use a tinted moisturizer from Stila for a special occasions just to even my skin out, but it doesn't really provide any coverage. HTH!

I love my Merle Norman Tinted Moisturizer I use it a lot in the summer mts. I've tried a few others but never found any thing that matches up to them.

Thanks! I guess I should point out that more often than not I have a pretty even complexion - I think this recent breakout was due to a new soap I was using. So I will look these up and give them a shot.

If anyone else has any reccomendations I'm open to them!
