We are getting married on Saint Patrick's Day and I am adding little Irish theme's to pretty much everything. Does anyone have any ideas that I may not have thought of?

what have you already planned?
I am getting married in Scotland (obvious celtic theme)I have tried to include a few things without going over the top.
for instance my dress has celtic inspired ribbon-work on the bodice.
all (or aleast most) of the guys will wear their family kilt.
a common tradition in both Scotland and Ireland is for the groom to throw small coins to the children as the new couple leaves the church.
another thing to think aboout might be handfasting. Handfasting, it is claimed is a holdover from pre-Christian Celtic marriage laws. Today handfasting is now the familiar part of the ceremony where the person officiating the ceremony asks "Who gives this woman to be wed?" and then takes her hand from her father or whoever is giving away the bride and clasps it to the hand of the groom. In olden days the priest or minister would wrap the clasped hands in the end of his stole to symbolize the trinity of marriage; man and woman joined by God. With God’s grace in time another trinity would be manifest; mother, father and child. The Celts have always been good at seeing things in threes. (taken from a nother website)
or you may want to use the clover leaf as a decoration I've seen it on a ring pillow and It looked very nice.
I would love to hear what else you have done...

We have an Irish Celtic theme. My ladies and I have our plaids to wear draped over the shoulder. My son will be in his kilt and fly-plaid; my groom will be in a tux, but with his clan tartan in the cummerbund and bowtie. I ordered lovely votive candles with Celtic themes- they are made beautifully, are slightly larger than the standard, and when lit, the glass dissappears, and the hand enameled design (Book of Kells, Finns kknot, etc) each shine through. For favors, we were able to order chocolate claddaughs and shamrocks. We have a Celtic band for the reception and a harpist for the service. All available on the Internet!

Micha... I found them on the internet at ealaindraoi.com. They are beautiful, and in a variety of Celtic, Gaelic, hunting and now other themes as well. Good luck.
