What is the best waterproof mascara?
I am looking for a mascara that isn't just totally waterproof but also will give really long lashes. Any advice would be really appreciated.
thanks

Hi Dixie!
I have a couple of favorite mascaras that give the "false eyelash" look with the convenience of a mascara.
*Lancome Pro Cils Mascara ($28 www.lancome.com)
This is a dual sided mascara, one side is the lengthening mascara the other is a great lash comb that has a thickening mascara. After brushing through a couple of times with the thickening side you will have beautifully separated, long reaching and incredibly thick lashes. My personal favorite mascara for myself as well as my brides.
*DiorShow Mascara ($23 www.sephora.com)
A cult favorite, this is one of Sephora's best selling mascaras. The thick brushes separates lashes and plumps them up, giving you plush lashes with just a few strokes.
*Maybelline Colossal Volum Mascara ($8 www.drugstore.com)
Surprise! A great mascara-from your local drugstore. This is one of the best mascaras for the price point. It has a super thick brush that instantly separates and thickens your lashes. I use this mascara as well.
*Rimmel London Lash MAXXX ($7 www.rimmellondon.com)
I love this brush on this mascara. Its a stiff, plastic comb that curls and lifts the lashes and makes them look much longer. I carry one of these in my professional makeup kit.
I know the lovely ladies on the board will also have great suggestions as well

I also like LOreal Voluminous, and Lancome Hypnose. Definitely different price points, but I use and love both (though I'm definitely stopping to pick up the Lancome Pro Cils on my way home, since I need a new mascara and want to try it now.)

I think you will love it Ciarrai! Especially if you like Lancome Hypnose. Speaking of which, they do make a waterproof version of Hypnose, Dixie. I have both and when I attend weddings (or when I go somewhere I think I may cry) I do one coat of the Hypnose over the Pro Cils just for added protection.

I looove DiorShow also because it lengthens and does not clump. I also love their Blackout mascara, which they claim is the blackest mascara out there.
*I dont work for them and get nothing for this lol*

thanks all think i will definitely try the Lancome one. At the moment I use the bobby brown waterproof mascara which is really waterproof (i can windsurf in it without it going anywhere) but it doesn't give the length and volume of other non waterproof mascaras I've used.

Love this topic. I use Cover Girl Marathon Waterproof Mascara and it works well for me. Haven't tried any of the other listed. Good luck!

I agree, Victoria secret mascara is good... why don't you try Avon waterproof mascara I've heard that's good too

While searching
Avon waterproof mascar on amazon i read a review, just sharing with forum
"I keep being tempted by Avon's mascaras given that they are so affordable, but unfortunately, I keep being disappointed. This waterproof mascara claims to be washable with soap and water only, no special remover needed as with other waterproof mascaras. In this respect, I found the product to work well--it stayed on my lashes all day, and when I washed my face at night, it easily washed away without leaving black splotches under my eyes.
Unfortunately, in other respects, this product did not perform nearly as well. The brush is quite standard, which I found surprising given all of the more functional designs available these days. One good thing was that the brush did not soak up too much product as some tend to do, so the mascara went on without clumps. However, not only did it not clump, but also it was barely noticeable! I have small eyes to begin with, so I need a mascara that really makes my lashes fuller and longer to open them up, and this mascara did neither. It went on rather wet and darkened my lashes slightly, but it didn't really do much in the way of adding either fullness or length. Applying several coats (letting each coat dry in-between) helped a little, but I found this to be a bit of a hassle.
Overall, this mascara might work well for someone who already has nice lashes and is just looking to enhance them slightly while retaining a very natural look. For ladies like me who need a bit more help, however, there are definitely better products available than this one. "
A customer.
