Is your cake fondant or buttercream? (yay for new smilies) I'm still having trouble telling the difference between the two. Either way, it is gorgeous!!

maroki~

I believe Rose's cake is BC smoothed very nicely out. The edges of the cake would be more rounded if it were fondant at least from what I recall from working w/ fondant.

Cool

yup, my cake was frosted in buttercream, and I'm pretty sure the decorations were piped BC as well. People who weren't there have asked if our teeth got blue b/c of the frosting and I can assure you they didn't. It was all creamy, moist & delicious. The bakery did a fabulous job! IIRC, they only do stacked cakes up to three layers, so that's why mine had the short "pillars". Something else to think/ask your baker about...

Well mine isn't definate yet, but these are on the short list...

BTW I *love* your wedgewood cake! I think it's amazing that they managed to make that with buttercream!

You'll get the idea, square 3 tier. Two together then the top layer seperated by a square vase... I just found the vase for it, I've been looking in the shops for ages for one that wouldn't be too tall... It'll have fresh flowers to match my bouquet (creams & greens) instead of those plastic ones & I'm not sure if I'll have the glass beads inside the vase or not. It'll be 2 layers fruit cake & 1 coffee.

Please excuse the crinkles & staples, they were in my 'ideas' scrap book!
