soap box speeches might be a silly question..

ok I have a question....My MOH doesnt want to give a speech(she gets nervous talking infront of people) thats ok right she doesnt have to if she doesnt want to. I am completly fine with that because I hate talking in front of people and I would hate to have to do it. But our best man wants to give a speech. Will it look weird if he gives a speech and she doesnt?

Little late but wanted to chime in -

At my sisters wedding, only the best man gave a speech. I was the MOH, and honestly I didn't even THINK about giving a speech, I didn't realize it was done. Most weddings I've ever been to only the best man has given a speech, so I don't think anyone will think it is wierd AT ALL.

Ditto. In fact, we had speeches from both best men, two fathers, and a grandfather (most kept it brief, but the grandfather...oy! What are ya gonna do?) and none of the women. I didn't even think of it; I'd never seen it done, and none of them asked to. They aren't the types who would want to and wouldn't ask because I didn't mention it, either.
