need opinions/ideas for center peice
Hi there!
We have decided to save a little money and make the toast easier to put a bottle of champaign on each table. I was going to put them in metal floral buckets (the kind you see at Joann's and such) with maybe a few votives on the table and flower petals. Someone also suggested tying balloons on them. So tell me....is this too tacky? Also if anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to pull this off or what might look better please let me know!
TIA
Mary

The only think I see a problem with is the balloons. Maybe it's just my opinion, but balloons make it look more like a birthday party or a prom then a wedding. I like the idea of the floral buckets though - but can you put prtals IN the bucket instead? That way, the champagne bottle looks like something growing out of the bucket.

As a personal opinion, I would also stay away from ballons. Many people use them to enhance decorations at a low cost. But, I feel having them flying above every table would be a bit much for a wedding reception.
ETA: I do think that having the champagne on each table is a good idea. Then, once the bottle for that table is gone, they won't be hounding the bar for more.

I love the champagne on the table idea, but I agree about the balloons.
I don't know anything about the theme of your reception (if you have one) but I saw this idea on Modern Bride.com
I think that this is really pretty, but still casual and fun -- plus you can put the table numbers on it. I guessed from the use of buckets you're planning a more rustic feel? I could be way off! If I am, sorry!
Here is the link to where I got the pic. It's under the theme of vineyard reception.

ETA: And welcome to Pash! I'm looking forward to hearing what you decide and more about your wedding!

Breezy, that's awesome. Would the glasses be your favors?

Yeah, breezy, those are nice.
I was looking at the 99 cent price tag wondering if you weren't buying them because they didn't go with your wedding colors. Then I saw the $24.95 shipping charge. I guess some people really do fall for that.
But, I think they would be really easy to make, and you could design them any way you want.

TY for the warm welcome and advice. I will do away with the balloons and move forward with this idea!
