Default Who can perform a marriage ceremony in New York (state)?
A girlfriend of mine is getting married in New York next summer and has asked me to perform the ceremony, which I am very excited to do. I have googled it and found the legal parts of it (which I don't quite know how work), but was curious if anyone else has gone through this or knows anything about it and can give me the non-legal verbage version.

You can become an officiant online and it's all legal. We had one of our friends do it for us as well. The marriage license explains what you need to do with it, and to where you have to mail it after the ceremony.
