Planned Parenthood
I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever used them before. My B/C prescription is going to run out next month and I'll need to go back to the dr. to get a new one. Problem is that we don't have health insurance (well, we have something in case something BAD happens, but it doesn't cover dr. visits or prescriptions). I could just go to my regular dr. but I'd end up paying a few hundred for that and obviously I don't wanna
Anyone....anyone????

I had to go to them for awhile when I was younger. I had nothing but positive experiences.

As far as providing some low cost health care for women I have always heard they are good.

I, too, have heard good things. I wouldn't personally use them b/c I have a personal conflict w/ their dogma, but everyone I know who has been has found them helpful.

I used them during HS and college. The only issues I had were getting my paps... the health dept doctor always made me bleed so the paps weren't able to be read.

I have gone to PP when I had a job where they only offered private insurance and I either don’t qualify or they want to charge me more than I can afford because I have a preexisting chronic condition (chronic asthma ). Any who, it was nice but be prepared for a long wait even if you have an appointment. I found them to be more informative than the regular ObGyn’s.

I went to them while I was in college. They were great. I think they base your visits and BC pill prices based on your yearly salary.

I used them too, beacause of not having insurance and being on BC. They were ok- I just switched because of all the problems I was having and wanted to see just one doctor (they rotated at mine).

I forgot to add that you should keep an eye out for crazy abortion protestors if it's an issue in your area. (Not saying all protestors are crazy...) This is based off my experience in a city. When I first moved here I had to go to PP to get a pill refill until I found a gyno. There were six or seven protestors out front that got in my face and screamed until they were red. It's quite scary and many of them are psychotic who just don't care why you are there. So - check it out before you go, do a drive-by to make sure it's a safe location and you can get in the building and back to your car safely.

I went to the Health Clinic when I was in High School. I hated it had to wait hours on hours to see someone and it was never the same one. I have taken a few classes there in the past few years and it just grosses me out to really see what goes on behind close doors. Check it out and if it seem OK then I would do it. I just don't care for the place around here.
