Flower Question #2...
I think I'd like to have a totally different bouquet from my BMs. Not absurdly different, but I want one that's all ivory and I'd like theirs to be sage green. Can I use different flowers, do you think? Or since the colors are different, should I be sure to use the same flower and just make mine larger?

Im using two different syles. Mine is really big and is really full, the BM are just 3 roses tied together. I don't see a problem with it.

No problem with that. You can do whatever you want.

mine was completely different from BM's. They had pink roses with a sage & pink hydrangea (sp?) in the center. I had a huge bouquet of pink & yellow roses, orange spray roses (the little baby ones), pink alstermeria, gerber dasies and I think that's it. There was some really pretty fillers in there too though.

I think using different flowers would be fine. And, the colors sound so pretty!

Remind me, what color are the girls wearing?
I think having the flowers different is a fine idea.

We've decided on a chocolate brown color for the girls and for the groomsmen tuxes, Annie.

I think as long as the colors compliment each other, different is good. The sage green and ivory will look absolutely gorgeous with the chocolate CW, very good choices! MY BM's had bouquets of mostly orange roses with a few reds, my bouquest was all red roses with orange calla lilies. If mine was any bigger than theirs, it wasn't by much.

That will be beautiful with the chocolate and the sage! You should do that.

I reread this and realized that I meant to put "for the groomsmens vests" -- the tuxes will be black. I am so dopey sometimes.
Thanks for all your input, girls! You're the best!

bouquets
I'm tall, almost 5'11 so I am having a cascading bouquet. I'm doing calla lillies and ivory roses with some greenery. My sister is much shorter and is having a round bouquet. Her flowers are day lillies, hyrangeas, roses and greenery. Guess I'm being selfish, but I think we brides should have something different from our attendants, something more spectacular.

I agree that the bride's should be more elaborate than the BMs, but I also think there should be a consistency. I had a cascading bouquet with Lysianthus, English Ivy, Blue Delphinium and Stephanotis. My BMs carried a single stem of Lysianthis with greenery. The GMs bouts were a single Lysianthis. The groom's bout was a Lysianthus and some Blue Delphinium.
I think that lends a more cohesive look than to have the bride with peonies, the BMs with tulips and the GMs with rose bouts. But, that's just my opinion.

I'm using 2 different styles. Mine will be hydrangeas and calla lilies and the girls will have 1 large blue daisy surrounded by smaller white daisies.
I obviousely think it is O.K. to have different styles. But I would have to confess I am all about what any bride wants and not really very traditional.
