Need dresses FAST!
Friend and FH decided they don't want to wait on his annulment from the Catholic church to get married, with get a blessing from the church later. So they moved the wedding up a bit. It's President's Day Weekend. THIS President's Day weekend. As in 3 weeks from now. In Vegas (woo-hoo, Vegas baby!!!) Soooooo - where can we get bridesmaids dresses in a hurry? We came up with 2 backup plans in case we can't find anything. I can borrow all of the BM dresses from my wedding and we can use those, or we can all just go buy something off the rack in black that fits (which is what I honestly think we will end up doing, bride isn't the most organized/proactive person in the world.) But she really wants silver and I have no idea where we can get something that quickly. I would love to find them for her if I can, since I am sure I will probably be the only person willing to really help out this late in the game. Any ideas? I am going to try to get back on later this evening...

My first thought are buy the black dresses of the rack and either have silver sashes made to go round the waists or get her to use silver in the rest of the details... Silver jewellery, silver ribbons tying the bouquets, silver on the tables, maybe silver strappy shoes...

I think Ann is right, you ought to just go with black and add silver accesories.

didya go to The Rack yet? That'd be my first stop, I swear they have such great stuff when it comes to dressy dresses... otherwise, go with the black w/ silver accents. (Don't be a co-dependent, enabling Planner, mmmkay?)
Is this the mega-headache friend from YOUR wedding?

Oh my 3 weeks. Good luck! If you go with the black dress they have some black sashes with silver all over it at Target. I seen them today while I was there. I believe you are going to kill your self trying to find silver dresses this fast.

David's bridal has a section where you can buy stuff off the rack.

I don't know what stores you have out by you. But I know here I would just go to EVERY department store and upscale dress shop or place that sold eveningwear. I bet you wouldn't have a problem finding gorgeous dresses. Good luck!

I would start with department stores. Prom season isn't that far away, so I bet they're already putting out dresses for prom season.
If you can't find anything silver that way, my vote is for black dresses with silver accessories.

I agree with Feb-bride...it's prime season for formalwear off the rack..and if they don't have the sizes and number in stock they can search other locations to find them

YES this IS the mega-King Kamehameha biotch 'friend' from my wedding! LOL! And I hear you on the co-dependent enabling planner thing, but this is purely selfishness on my part. If I take control of it, I get to do what I want! How horrible is that? I actually thought that Rick would shoot it down and then we wouldn't go, but he is all up for going to Vegas again since we didn't really have any time to ourselves last time we went (his first time.) I'll have to try Nordie's Rack, there is one about 15-20 minutes from where I work. I actually found a dress online that I know would work for me and a couple of the other girls, but the dress is only available up to size 18, and 2 of the other girls don't fit into that range. But if she lets us get whatever silver dress we want, this is what I am going with (it's available now and it's only $69!!!):
I think you guys are right, department stores will be our best bet. Maybe she will see something off the rack at David's Bridal that she will be happy with, she is going there today. I am cool if we all just pick our own dress in a certain color though. Thanks for the suggestions!

AHHH! I LOVE that dress!
Since she's the mega beotch, I'd say if you HAVE to be in her wedding, GET the dress!! Tell her she didn't give you enough notice so this is what you're wearing!

Couldn't agree more!
WARNING - The mother of all horrible catty bitchy moments is coming in 3, 2, 1:
Would it be wrong of me to get that dress knowing that I will look fabulous in it, probably better than the bride on her wedding day??? Oh jeez, I am so evil with that one. Gee I guess I am a little bitter about her behavior before my wedding, ya think??? Going straight to hell for having that thought. Anyone want me to save them a seat?

Bebe,
I am going to probably rent my dress froma a place called One Night Affair ( http://www.onenightaffair.com/?PHPSE...8a6a3ac1b67b51)
and I know they also rend BM dresses. I think they are only located in the Los Angeles are but perhaps you have something like that in the bay area? The one in LA is pretty cool because they supply wedding and bridal party dresses for different soap operas, movies and other entertainment venues so the dresses are usually up to date and well maintained. I know they entertainment industry is big in SF area too so perhaps they have something like that by you. Best of luck, I’m keeping my fingers crossed .
Where did you find that dress? It is beautiful
